How do you buy your paper?? Do you just buy what you like and then hold onto it until an oppurtunity to use it arises OR do you kind've have a fair idea of what you are working on and then go searching for that perfect paper?? OR a little bit of both?? I have found that I usually have an idea of what I want and will paper for specific photos-that way I have no excess paper lying around but on the flip side this may be stifling my creativity and I also spend hours looking for that just right paper!!

I jot down a list of supplies - paper, stickers, die- cuts, etc. that I know I will be needing to work on specific pages in the near future. I then head to the scrapbook store armed with the list. I find everything on the list and then I literally walk up and down every aisle looking at every piece of paper.

I usually know what events my children will be involved in the future and if I find paper, I snatch it up, usually in 2 sheets. Sometimes it sits in my bin for 6 months but I will get around to using it!

Some paper I buy with a specific event in mind or layout such as Christmas. I am also accumulating basics like small plaids in coordinating shades, soft patterns in muted shades and lots of cardstock. I have gotten away from bright, busy prints. I just give those to my girls to scrap with. Of course there are always those adorable papers that I just have to splurge on once in a while like the baby themes or the toothfairy. But remember half the fun of scrapping is the shopping!!!

For some time I would only buy paper when I had a layout in mind for it. I take my pictures to the LSS and match my paper to the photos. One time I saw a paper that I really loved but I couldn't think of any photos that I had that I could use it for. A few weeks later I was in my photo box and when I looked at one of the photos I immediately thought of that paper. When I went to my LSS to get it, low and behold they were out and had no plans of ordering it again. Now when I see a paper that is unique or something I really like I purchase at least 2 sheets of it.
