What a wonderful treat your parents have given to all of you, you are very thoughtful to what to do something special as a thank you.

Keep us posted.

I was thinking about a photo memory as well. Could you set up a photo session at one of the resorts? I know I have read that you can do so at the Grand Floridian and the Wilderness Lodge. Having some professional family portraits that could be displayed at home would be beautiful! Just make sure that if you do that as a surprise that your parents have an outfit that could be worn for the photo shoot. :goodvibes

I agree - if I were paying for my kids to bring their families on a big family trip I would LOVE photos of all of us, plus my grandchildren, as a keepsake!

I would definitely talk about it with your sister, so you can coordinate clothing (I think color schemes being similar always looks nice) and then maybe just tell your folks what to wear, but keep the reason a surprise (or kind of a surprise?). That would be a lovely way to celebrate being together, and having you set it up would be a nice thank you!

I agree also with the photo book but make the 1st picture of all of you holding up a sign (take it now and add) in the pic saying thank you and we love you.

I would completely do a photo book as well. You can even do the Photopass and get a book from there. I don't know if you went already, but if not, if you are eatting at Grand Floridian or Ciderella's royal table, you can order a Cinderella Slipper Dessert and request they write Thank you on the plate.

PhotoPass photobooks are very expensive, they start $79.95. Personally, I would just take a camera and make my own photobook through websites like Shutterfly, Snapfish or Walgreens. I've ordered photobooks from all these sites and they are great quality and less than half the price.

Every character has a "guide" with them in addition to the Photopass photographer and they are more than happy to take a family photo of you all using your camera. We usually still use a photopass card just incase (it is free to use and view) but I've never bought any of the pictures. The photographers will offer you the card the first time you have a photo taken and you just give it to each photographer to scan after that. If you want a photo in front of the castle just ask someone walking by. I love taking family photos for other people. Before we had DD, when my DH wanted to ride Space Mountain, I would go hangout in front of the castle just to offer to take photos for people. :wizard:

I also like action shot. Grandma riding dumbo with DD, Grandpa driving the race cars with DS, etc. :lovestruc And make suer you get at least one photo with the whole family making funny faces. :goodvibes

I would do a less expensive photobook plus a nice frame 8x10 family photo to display.

Hope you have a magical time! :goodvibes

Photopass is a card (looks kind of like a credit card) that you carry with you around the parks. A photographer will scan the card before taking your picture allowing all your pictures to be accessed through the number on the card. You can order a cd with all the photos, and order books, mugs, etc. with the pictures. I agree that going this route can be pricey...but many are happy with it. I have used it before and the biggest drawback to me is that they are still candid shots. Some are good and some are not. In order to get your money's worth, you have to make sure you stop at a lot of the photographers. I don't want to spend that much time for candid shots that I could take with my own camera.
Going for a professional session at one of the resorts would give you a beautiful family photograph that could be framed and displayed. I was thinking more of a keepsake. I understand that this is not a budget option, but if my parents were paying for a trip and I could afford it...I would rather have the professional family picture done.
