Saying Thank you to Housekeeping in Spanish please

Pardon my ignorance, I do not know Spanish and I did try a free online translator.

I would like to make up Housekeeping envelopes for our room at WDW.
I thought it would be best to write on the outside of the envelope in Spansih and English, since both languages are popular in the USA.

Is the below correct ?
I would hate to write something wrong in Spanish.

Gobierno translated by itself meant Government
on the free on-line translator.

Please help me say it correctly !

A lot of the housekeepers speak only Creole (Haiti), just FYI.

Honestly, most of the mousekeeping at WDW is from Haiti or other Creole speaking countries. I have met a few Cubans and a few Americans but very few.

I would stick with the standard Mousekeeping envelopes and leave it at that. Almost all speak English as this is one of Disney's hiring requirements, from what I remember (correct me if I am wrong).

The first time I left the envelopes, I tracked the mousekeepers down to give them their tip envelope, however, last August, she took them. I left them on the mirror Just in English, I made them from the disign board designers

1) There are all sorts of ways of saying thank you to maids.
2) Unfortunately, there are at least six different nationalities.
3) We find if we say, "Will you take this tip?" they get the point.
4) And usually, no translation is needed.

I would not try to guess a language spoken by housekeepers, as I do think that some could be offended, and the assumption that if they're housekeepers they must speak Spanish (or Creole) is both inaccurate and could upset someone (though I know your intentions are good). Also, are you going to write it all out in say Portuguese, Polish, Russian, Latvian, Romanian, Vietnamese, Tagalog, or any other language that could possibly be spoken by a housekeeper working somewhere in Florida? Also, there are several versions of Creole, so you could be using the wrong one, and that's not going to help much!

At the GF on our last two visits, most of our housekeepers sounded American as in speaking as if they were born in the U.S. or as if they'd lived here for a very long time. We spoke English to all of them we dealt with, and all of them understood us perfectly well--even the few who had accents and were therefore probably not born here (but could be citizens of course). In fact, I have never come across a Disney employee who did not speak English.

To the OP: your intent is sincere and admirable, but the above will be most sufficient. "Thank you" is almost universally understood by Cast Members, no matter their level of english proficiency.

You could always cover your bases and put

HOUSEKEEPING : Thank You! / Graçias ! / Merçi ! / Mese ! / Spasiba ! / Gratzi ! / Cám ơn ! / Salamat ! / Dziekuje ! / Obrigado !

That covers, english, spanish, french/creole, russian, italian, vietnamese, tagalog, polish, and portuguese..

Somehow I bet "Thanks!" works just fine. If I'm feeling very creative I put a little Mickey Mouse head..

I have to agree, our Mousekeeper was from NJ last year the sweetest woman ever!

Personally, I think your heart is in the right place, but you'd be much better off placing
"Mousekeeping" on the envelope,
leaving it in an open obvious place, like on the table. I wrote a small different note outside each day (Have a Happy Day, Thanks for taking such good care of us, etc etc)
I think all they really like is acknowledgment of their hard work and appreciate the tip as do all service workers!
Mousekeepers have "made" our trips memorable in the past, whether that was getting extra towels/wascloths for a sick child, extra, extra shampoo requests, and tons of towel animals "staged" in our room, what Fun!! I totally appreciate them/what they do!

I always just put Mousekeeping on the envelope with a Mickey Mouse head and put it on the pillow. Never had a problem.
