Once the system is able to handle day guests using the mobile app, that will take a lot of pressure off the kiosks. So if the long lines you're seeing now are the problem, that's just a temporary situation.

We can hope. A lot of people are still going to show up to the parks with no clue of what's going on. Those are the type of people who will take 10 minutes each at the kiosk with lots of hand-holding from a cast member trying to explain how the system works.

In a way we do.

How about placing stations along the queue with information about FP+. Make it fun and interactive. Set up the line so that those who are not familiar with FP+ can play along the queue learning about FP+ and others can go directly to the kiosk.

Or maybe have a test to pass first? Earn a badge before you're allowed play with the real kiosks

But it was amazing how many people couldn't operate the old machines. I've only been twice and I couldn't count the number of people I've seen go to the FP machines with 3 or 4 tickets and then get all confused over which ticket they had already for a FP on have to cycle through the whole lot a few times

That's one I don't have the answer to -but it's something I can ask about.

My guess - and it's just speculation based on operational considerations and a lot of years of seeing how Disney "thinks" - would be that if folks are going to get more passes, they darn well better go to the park where they're getting the reservations, so they're more likely to use them. Simplest way to impose such a requirement is to have them be in the park to make the reservations.

Of course the app has GPS as a requirement, so hopefully it will come in a later incarnation.

You mean like at the grocery store and the U-Scan lines. In reality, the best way to handle this is a single line serviced by several Kiosks. That way you don't get stuck behind someone taking forever.

No, they are going to re-purpose the FP- machines for the task.

When WWOHP first opened, Universal dug out their old express pass machines from when they had a free option. People could wait in line or use one of the machines to get a choice of 2 return times to come back and enjoy WWOHP.

No, no. My original FP were at the Studios, and then after they had passed, I went to MK and used a kiosk there to get a FP for Big Thunder.

It's possible you lucked into a short term glitch, similar to the one day snafu allowing multiple rides from tier 1.

I would think if this was possible, more people would be discussing it.

Did you book a single FP for BTMRR, or book three more simultaneously as the OP (on the "unplugged" thread) suggests?

I did it. And my additional pass was in a different park from the original three.

Note that the additional passes have to be reserved *at a kiosk*, not via an online app.

But hasn't it been some time since you did this? You are the only person I have seen with a report of being able to do this, and it seems it's been some time.

Have you been able to replicate it?

Since it was close to park closing, there was only one slot that could be booked. So I can't say for sure if three bookings would have been permitted.

But my conversation with WDI was just last week, and as of the beginning of the month, the current test would allow what I did.

I have read about at least one other who has done this, and I would like to see more guests try it - as long as they a) wait until the first three time slots have passed, and b) go to a kiosk rather than trying to use the app.

When I did it, it definitely did *not* work with the app. My understanding is that the same is true of the current test.

Hi Cigar - you posted about your experience with this a month or so back. So I decided to set up morning FP+ at MK our first day. After using those MK FP+ we will head back to YC through Epcot and I will try to use a kiosk there to see if we can get any Epcot FP+

Won't be there until the 26th of March, but I will report what happens for me.

As someone else stated, I can't imagine Disney will ever allow guests to use a mobile app to secure additional FP. But it would be nice if they would allow you to if you are actually in the park...

You say the first three time slots had passed - did you actually use all three FP's to get on rides?

Mind blank, but what is WDI? And, do you know if you would have been able to use that FP+ made at a kiosk in the same park you used the first three or did it have to be at a hopped to park?
