When we were in Epcot I tried to sniff around and see if we could get on Soarin'...this was before the AP preview (I think it was Thurs?) Can't remember because we park hop and I'm too lazy to go and check my little diary! We were told by every CM that we asked that there would be no other previews - besides the ones for AP holders. Do you think that that is true? Where should we go to try to get on? Also, were at MGM yesterday and were told by the CMs there that there would be no more previews of the new stunt show there until may 5th. Does that sound right? Should we just check each time we're in the parks? Any tips?

As far as Soarin' goes, they check the tix to make sure you have either a seasonal or annual pass. If not, they will not let you into the building. I don't know about the stunt show.

Yeah, that's becasue it is the AP weekend preview for Soarin...we are wondering about any soft openings after this weekend. I have an AP but I don't think that will make a difference the last week of April.

The soft openings is anyone's guess. I rode it twice yesterday and am going back today and tomorrow as well. I want to ride it as much as I can now since I don't want to wait in line for 2-3 hours once it opens. I've heard that they opened Soarin' last week and were getting people to ride so they make sure the CM's were doing a good job. But again, that's really hit and/or miss.

I thought it was suppose to open May 5th - if that is the case you will be able to ride this at the end of May - We are planning too :flower:

Only from experience, what I have seen:
Usually there is a random test group where guests are asked if they would like to ride before opening. And I think they may even have to sign a waiver, depending on the ride.

Next, is the Cast preview for limted days.

Followed by the AP (and DVC) preview for a limited number of days.

After that, it is anyone's guess. It could be soft opening daily. It could be closed until the official opening. (Which I have not seen.) Or they could just randomly open the ride for any passing guests.

It's just a wait and see once the AP preview is done.

Oops...I meant teh last week of APRIL...that when I will be there....just around the corner.

I would bet that they will have very limited preview groups ride, just so that the CM's can keep interacting, and perfecting their job loading and unloading guests. This is why they did limited sneak peek groups before the Cast and AP Previews.

Unfortunately, these "sneak peeks" are unofficial, and unannounced, so the only way to find out is to actually walk over to Soarin'.

When I was there, I think it was this past Mon., I asked a couple guys in suits with a Soarin' badge on their lanyard if they were offering any previews that day, and they said it was CMs only that day. The next day at MK, the CM on the raft to Tom Sawyer Island said if anybody's in Epcot and is asked to try something new, to do it, but wouldn't give the guests any details. Of course I knew what he was talking about and told him we were there the day before and I asked about it and was told it was CMs only that day. He said he went on it 4 times and it was awesome! We probably won't be back there for about 3 years, so I guess I'll have to wait! I asked about the stunt show when we were at MGM too. They said they had done a preview at 1 (this was probably around 4) and they were going to do another one the next day at 1, but we couldn't work it into our schedule.

Thanks for the responses.

I have an AP. Do you think I might get a chance to ride when I'm down there, April 25-May 2? Thanks! :sunny:

I'm going to snoop around Soarin' on Monday just in case they do have a soft opening or a random preview. It does seem highly unlikely though.

We're at the Swan, and just finished our AP preview of Soarin'.

Seven times in two days!!

It's just like I remembered from DCA....

FANTASTIC!!!

If I recall correctly with Stitch's Great Escape once the Cast and AP previews were done, it was open all the time. I suppose it just depends on various factors.
