Well another fantasy of my childhood is now tainted. I wonder if the Professor knows about this? What will the Howell's think? I would have expected this type of behavior from Ginger, after all she ran with a fast Hollywood crowd, but not sweet innocent Mary Ann.

Beautiful Mary Ann (aka Dawn Wells) who I had a crush on as a young kid, was caught dancing with Mr Ganja,

"A surprise birthday party for Dawn Wells, the actress who played Mary Ann on "Gilligan's Island," ended with a nearly three-hour tour of the Teton County sheriff's office and jail when the 69-year-old was caught with marijuana in her vehicle while driving home. The case began the night of Oct. 18, when Teton County sheriff's Deputy Joseph Gutierrez arrested Wells as she was driving home from a surprise birthday party. She posted $4,000 bond and was arraigned on the charges the following day, pleading not guilty. A trial on the matter was scheduled for March 13, but was canceled because of the plea agreement.

According to the sheriff's office report, Gutierrez pulled Wells over after noticing her swerve across the fog lines and center lines of State Highway 33 and repeatedly speed up and slow down.

"I exited my patrol vehicle and immediately was able to smell a strong odor of burning marijuana," Gutierrez wrote in his report. After Wells failed a field sobriety test, she was handcuffed and taken to the sheriff's office.

I think that the Professor was growing it on the Island the whole time, but kept it hush, hush. After all he did make telephones for the castaways out of coconuts and invented a pedal car for Gilligan made out of bamboo. How hard is it to grow pot on a tropical Island? He and Maryann always had a sexual tension between them and most likely introduced it to her. She being a Kansas farm girl and all.

First Ginger told me once (in a recurring dream I have) that was why she left the show after the 1st season.......buncha dope smokers harshin' their buzz....

I never really recovered from her selfish act and can trace my juvenile behavior as starting directly after this betrayal........
