Say it Ain't SO...LC ???

OK, OK, We all know the restaurant is going anywhere now. But , as with any TS in WDW, we're going to have conflicting reports of what is good and bad...That wasn't my intention for this topic, which is Obviously false..... There are plenty of threads that include this particular topic, w/ How good or How bad LC is...

I have yet to eat at any of those places. My friend claims the food is what's amazing. Everything you said is what I have heard otherwise. Being on the dining plan the last two trips we haven't done any of those places because they a two credits, and for what you get is it really worth those two credits. I'd rather have two meals than one.

No offense to your friend...but I'm sure he/she isn't much of a foodie based on that opinion

It was kinda a ridiculous premise that doesn't pass the sniff test, no?

Disney loves outsourcing these days...but I don't think they're ready to fall to the level of Chilies just yet

Well I just go along with it. When I finally try it I'll judge it for myself. But everytime she goes that's what she talks about. She is also more of a dessert person she owns a candy store lol.

In my experience...taste is a very "regional" thing in the US.

Some places have it...some don't.

I call it "the dominos effect"

Pretty sure even if Disney closed a restaurant in the Canadian pavilion they wouldn't put an Australian restaurant back in ;)

Hey....if they can take up half of a real country with a fake country, I'm not putting anything past them ;)

Since the 2 credit joke, the food has been dumbed down! Last time we were there my granddaughter had pasta and it was NO BETTER than slop in a can!!!
This has been on my do not list for several years!

So let me get this straight.... you went to a STEAK HOUSE. Your granddaughter ordered PASTA off the KIDS MEAL menu. And you found it unsatisfactory, and for that reason Le Cellier is on your do not do list. The mind boggles.

Ok...how about the fact that its just not that good...especially for the price?

You're looking at the icing, not the cake on this one...

Le cellier falls into a select group that including Prime Time, Cinderella's, Chef Mickeys, and Ohana for me...

Not "terrible"...but highly overpriced and overrated...IMHO

Maybe you didn't read the dumbed down menu? The pasta was the straw that broke it all! I have been to LC at least a dozen times and its not the same. The 2 credit thing adds more insult to it all .......

Yeah...I hadn't looked at the menu in a while...but I just did...

Not to "flame" as the original poster requested I not do (sorry :) )...but it looks like a Disney "fancy...cafeteria style" take that's sadly becoming normal...

$45 blah strip and $40 salmon...no thanks.

I haven't been in a few years (unlike almost every other on property restaurant) and I don't have any compelling reason to go back...

I understand that those prices are market rate, generally, for those items...but not at the reduced quality levels and not in a place where they want me to book an advanced time to go on the figment ride.

It's just bad show and - excuse the pun - "taste"...

I notice that Le cellier is often available close in on reservations now...as opposed to 5 years ago... The "2 point" effect.

I find this highly unlikely considering Canada has only one outback steakhouse in the whole country which is in Niagara Falls. That one is owned by a hotel, it closed when outback pulled out of canada completely but then the hotel bought it and reopened it and jacked the prices up to astronomical levels like most things in the tourist area of niagara falls

Interestingly, the Outback website does not include the Niagara Falls location. It does, however, include a location in Edmonton.

I wonder why they dissociate themselves from the Niagara Falls locations (Google tells me that there are two). They do seem to allow them to use the name and menu.

Maybe this Outback connection could be a way to get a new pavilion built. Disney is always looking for sponsors, so, Australia "Brought to you by Outback". The restaurant could be inside either a replica of the Opera House or Uluru. Heck, then they could put a new Nemo ride there, or just move the one in Future World.
