I went and toured the models this past weekend. I know I promised construction pictures, but I don't think anything I took looks much different from what Doc has already posted. We just got home last night and I will check pictures this evening when I get home from work to see if anything is worth posting. Seeing the construction from the Disney Quest end of DTD sure did put into perspective the layout of the resort. I now see how a bridge on the end will help with access to DTD from SSR.
I do have a couple of observations about the models. I do like them very much. I loved the color scheme. The pictures have not done them justice. Also loved the ottoman/coffee table--another source of seating options. The dark wood of the furniture is nowhere like the darkness of WLV, which we are reallynot fond of.
Also, I noticed hidden Mickey's in the headboard of the bed in the master bedroom
And, there is a small electrical outlet built into what I call the "backsplash" of the desk in the master bedroom, which means no crawling around on the floor to plug in the laptop. It is in the left hand corner.
I was not able to see my Guide as he was off the day I was there, but I appreciated the fact that someone took the time to show hubby and I around even though we did not have an appointment. I was told that they have been so busy that this may not always be possible.
One negative comment I have to make is that while I was poking around checking things out, there were a lot of tours being given to people obviously totally new to the DVC concept. I overheard a Guide specifically tell one couple that you can sleep 5 in a one-bedroom, and he made no mention of one of them being in a crib or needing to be under 3.
Also went and visited lifeguard son on Monday when he was working at the Boardwalk pool. I have to say that the clown isn't as freaky close up as it looks from the boat as you ride by to and from MGM. Just an observtion.
One more thing, the love bugs were just absolutely awful.
