Saw something interesting across generation gap bridge...

I spoke with a CM and asked if they were ever going to add family suites to the Pop and they said that they would be working on them real soon. I did not any dates or anything but maybe it is promising.

I'll be at Pop week from Saturday - 4 nights
then Coronado 4 nights
then Beach Club 4 nights

Most of that time I can be found when Off Kilter is playing

When we were at POP back in May we talked to one of the CM's in a higher up position...not going to mention any names as do not want to get the CM in trouble but we talked at length to this CM about the Resort as well as whether or not Disney would complete the Legendary Years. The CM explained that Disney stopped construction after 9-11 when attendance dropped drastically....and as much as Disney wants to complete the Legendary Years section of POP, the contractors that Disney uses are booked up (whether by Disney or others) until 2010....Disney is currently monitoring the Family Suites situation at All Stars and will decide whether to complete the Legendary Years as family suites.

Maybe the tent has something to do with the TOT 13 K that is happening this weekend at WDW?

DVC uses several contractors - so why wouldn't Disney. this doesn't make sense?

if DVC can do 2 DVC building - CR and AKV - then Disney ought to be able to do one.

I am going to join in here, because I would like to know about this too. It is sad that they have let these buildings go, that is a huge waste of money, that they could probably re-coup by turning them into family suites. That is something I would really love to see happen, for me that would mean a longer vacation to WDW. One can dream can't they?

Suzanne princess:

I agree 100% with you they should make those into Family Suites !!!!

The aerial pictures from Google Earth of the unfinished part are really eerie...you can see where the foundations have been poured for all of the buildings...it almost looks like there were structures there at some point that are just in ruins now.

I haven't kept up with this at all, but with 3 kids, it would be really nice to have some additional family suites available at the value resorts.
