Saw Something Disgusting at Epcot This Week...

What is the world coming to? If there's a thread with disgusting things people have witnessed at WDW, please let me know so I can add this to it.

Last week, our group of 12 was at Epcot. We had explored the World Showcase and had just left Mexico and were heading over to the Canada area for an Illuminations spot. Well, my brother and I decided to head back to Norway to get two sweet pretzels (which were very good, by the way). On our trek back to Canada, we passed the old Odyssey restaurant. There's a grassy area that leads up to the water between Future World and World Showcase. Well, we saw some older guy jump the fence and start walking up towards the water's edge. I turned to my brother and said, "Hey, I think that guy's gonna pee!" and sure enough he unzips his pants and pees into the bushes that are by the water's edge. My brother and I were completely disgusted. Now, his back was facing the World Showcase, but anyone that was walking the path by Test Track would've gotten an eyefull.

What is wrong with people!?!?!? There are bathrooms all over the place in WDW. Why would you think you could just unzip your pants and go to the bathroom? It's not like the guy was hidden. Anyone that saw him knew what he was doing.

There was a WDW worker who saw him relieving himself (and she was shaking her head in bewilderment), but my brother and I were so irritated that we just kept walking so we don't know what happened.

Anyway, just thought the folks on the DIS would be amused (and completely disgusted) by what the world is coming to in this day and age.

:crazy2: Unfortunately, the price of admission doesn't necessarily mean that common sense goes with the payer.

I wish security was there and hauled that loon away. There's got to be a bathroom every 150 ft. :confused3 I guess the guy couldn't read or see signs or he was just too lazy.

Do a search for a thread titles
Ever hasd a shock at Disney and you will find that what you witnessed is not that uncommon.

Though it is very poor

I also don't understand people. I've always been one of those people who tries to look at the best of every situation, but lately I'm finding it harder and harder to do.

Yesterday, DD and I were at AK. I was standing in line at the restaurant in AK waiting to order. There was a group of teenage boys in the line next to mine. When the guy ahead of me gave his order, the boys pushed over from their line to mine ahead of me. The CM working the cash register just looked at me, but did nothing. I said, "Excuse me, I believe I was in this line before you". The boys just shook their heads like they didn't understand me. They were speaking Spanish to each other. So, I decided not to make an issue of it. When they were done ordering, I ordered.

When the CM handed me back my change, she dropped a quarter. As I bent down to pick it up, one of the boys grabbed it and put it in his pocket. I said "That's my quarter". He laughed at me and turned his back. Again, the CM did nothing. A guy standing in the next line was watching the entire thing. He just shook his head and smiled at me. I know he was thinking the same thing that I was. What a bunch of little punks!

I really don't know if these kids could speak English or not. Maybe they couldn't, but they knew very well what they were doing. The look the kid gave me when he pocketed my quarter was just daring me to make something of it. If I hadn't had DD waiting for me, I'd have gone to security.

I hate to make waves. I really do, but I'm getting real tired of people taking advantage of me. It seems to be happening more and more. Usually, it is somewhere on Disney property. It makes me so sad that the CMs can witness this type of thing, but seem afraid to do anything about it. Well, I've had it. The next person who takes advantage of me at WDW will feel the rath of Peggy! I just hope I don't get banned from WDW. :goodvibes

There is a huge thread "anything gross you have witnessed at WDW" I don't know how to post the thread but if you search with the word gross it will come up. Unfortunately the thread is very large so there are lots of disgusting things going on.....

I saw woman washing her kids rear in a water fountain...very gross.

Oh that is SO disgusting!!! Where do people come up with these antics?!?! Why trek to the bathroom when I'll put my poop stained son's rear on the spout where others come to quench their thirst?! I'm as lazy as the next person, but I'd never think to do something so disgusting, just gross! I'm appalled.

Feral,

I'd have been tempted to tell the register person to contact security.

I can't stand when people get away with treating others like that. I hope you didnt let it ruin the rest of your day.

We are so disappointed though that the CM's would stop some of these rude people. Where is the secuirty that Disney is so well known for? Thought that they had camera everywhere.  party: party: party:

:furious: Sorry you had to go thur that. I have noticed as I am getting older I am getting bolder, I mean don'tlet people push me around I will speak up for my self. I don't know what this world is coming to!

Yuck! Sorry you had to see that very un-Disney fountain in Epcot. There is a thread called 'Have you ever had a shock?' on the Theme Parks and Strategies board that has hundreds of stories that are even worse. It is well over 100 pages, but it's worth a peek if you want to be truly surprised about human nature, and if you have a strong stomach!

Sounds like Uncle Orville broke out of the Carousel of Progress.

'No privacy at all around this place!'

The funniest thing about that is that there is a huge, almost never used, rest room in the Odyssey building itself, just inside the door. No class, no class at all.
:sad2:

:furious: :crazy2: What some people will do. It just disgust me to think that some people don't have the respect for other people and will do anything.

There are actually 2 rest rooms in the Odyssey building. The one inside the door on one side and another more public looking one on the other side.

Welcome to the wonderful world of dealing with the 'public' !!!

CM's have to deal with this type of behavior all the time!!!! :(

(I'm too lazy to quote)
Did you snap a picture of the guy peeing using a digital camera so as not to waste film? Would security be interested?

(I'm too lazy to quote)
Did the CM eventually hand you the correct change excluding the dropped quarter?

No. She was an older lady who didn't speak English that well either. She just carried on with the next guest.

The quarter was no big deal. If the kid had told me he needed money, I'd have given him more than a quarter. It was the way he acted. No respect for anyone.

Sorry to say but by letting the issue slide you are perpetuating several problems:
* Companies who hire for dealing with the public employees who do not speak the language,
* Companies failing to take security seriously enough where in the future someone could go bolting after the miscreant possibly causing collateral damage (an alternative is to be liberal with extra pixie dust),
* The fact the kid acted that way is all the more reason to yell "stop thief!" or "pickpocket!" loudly.

I would like to see discontinued the practice of holding up one's ticket while passing through the concourse (the TTC) from the MK parking lot to the monorail or ferry, particularly early in the morning when it is crowded. Too much of an opportunity for ticket snatchers.
