Saw Something Disgusting at Epcot This Week...

its the happiest place on earth and people have to be stupid, rude and dump. over the years i have seen so much and having to deal with people that are rude i have come to take things in stride. i use to get so angry with people i would run the mouth or if i was walking and people don't to the move to the side i would stop infront of them and look at them and the people with the space issue when on a ride where they are right on you i use to let well hee hee. now i go slow i have fun because i have been there so many times that i think to myself that it may be the only time they come here so let them be stupid

Please remember that the individual might not be an American. It is not at all uncommon in foreign countries (at least it didn't USED to be uncommon) for men to urinate when the need struck. I have been to more countries than I can count and the only place I *didn't* witness this was in Iceland. I remember it frequently in Paris, Venice, Rome, Frankfurt, Istanbul, Jerusalem, etc. When I was a child, it was commonplace to see men doing their "thing" on the side of the road. If I had seen this, I would have thought, "Hmmm, must not be from around here."

while I know there are horror stories about foreigners who take advantage (the boys in the food line/quarter story), there are also those who are suffering a wee bit of culture shock and may not know any better.

This could now get into some big moral dilemma, but I don't care if the guy was American or not. No one should pee in public in a place frequented by children (or a place frequented by anyone, for that matter). I can't stand this when I see people doing it on the side of the road, let alone in a place where little kids are running around. Shouldn't the fence that the guy jumped over have given it away that he was in a place that he shouldn't be? Aren't fences in all cultures a symbol of a barrier that probably shouldn't be crossed?

It's one thing (maybe) to do this on the side of the road when there's no bathroom for miles, but when there's a bathroom 200 feet a way, this is uncalled for wherever you are from.

I am sorry, but this doesn't fly. I have read this excuse many times on these types of threads. If I were to travel to another country I would take the time to learn some of the proper customs. Urinating in public is just plain gross and may contribute to the fact that most of the places you mentioned are filthy places.

I for one have no problem with making a scene if someone were to take my money, cut in line. There have been many times I have gone to security at a sporting event or concert if someone in my area were smoking and wouldn't stop after being asked.

Also, I think I might learn a few choice words in foreign lang's before the next time I go to the world.

Not being a native is no excuse. Why the expression, "ugly American"? Too many Americans traveling and not obeying other countries' customs is why. It's no excuse for us,and it's no excuse when others come visit our country either. He probably had to walk further to go in the trees than if he'd walked to the restrooms right there in that bldg.

I'm tired of people cutting me off in lines at Disney, so I don't put up with it anymore. A woman and her daughters tried to do that when we saw Cinderella at Toontown. They let groups in, and we were the last in our group to see Cindy. We shouldn't have been, but we held back and let others who were so excited they weren't paying attention to the line go in front knowing we'd get our turn soon enough. Just as my dd walked up to Cinderella, this lady and her girls burst into the room and ran in front of my dd. I said with a smile on my face and calm voice, "Excuse me, but we've been waiting and are next." She proceeded to get very nasty with me until Cinderella stepped in and sweetly told her exactly what I had. The woman gave me hateful glares the whole time, but she couldn't argue with a princess.

But...how many *Americans* travel to WDW and don't even pick up a guidebook??? Yes, we think everyone who travels should learn the customs, BUT that is almost a uniquely American way of thinking. I'm an American, an Army brat, but growing up on another continent informed me of the differences in cultures and just b/c we may think there is something wrong with it HERE, does not necessarily make it WRONG in general. Just remember that there is a whole WORLD out there and the cultural mores of the U.S.A. do not apply to the vast majority of it's population.

Thing is you'll find people behaving rudely no matter where you go these days - we live in a "me centered" society.

We were at Epcot on Sat. June 17th. VERY hot that day. Outside the American Presidents attraction there is the big water fountain. Well, a guy from England watch his son..no more than 5 or 6..get right out of the stroller and jump in.....we thought it was funny, then...the father pulls his son out and strips him but naked and lets him go back in. It was UNREAL.

I was going to take a picture with my phone because no one would beleive it. I didnt take a picture due to the fact someone may think i was some kind of "freak".

I dont understand the thinking of some of these parents.

Another thing I noticed was how all the "teeny boppers" were dressed. I know thats the style now a days...but parents...COME ON. How can some of you let you sons or daughters out of the house dressed the way they do.

Its getting ridiculous.

How gross.... ack, I wouldn't be thrilled seeing someone pee in public, nor would I relish seeing a mom cleaning her child' rear in a drinking fountain ... gross.

There seems to be a lot of line cutting lately... when ds was in line to see the Power Rangers this past trip, a grandma was putting her grandson right up infront of everyone. She did it in every Power Ranger line too ... and none of the CMs there did a thing ... nor did any adult either, myself included, but I thought one of the Cms would have had more clout to point out the end of the line anyway, which they chose not too. She was gone soon (cutting is a time saver, I guess ), so it wasn't a major disruption, but still....

Also people trying to cut to the front during Illuminations ... one little girl showed up next to us (we got our spot early) and edged ds over ... we thought she was with the older couple next to us, and they thought she was with us ... she wasn't. When each of us realized she wasn't, they asked "Where is your mom and dad" and she said they were in the back and told her to move up to the front so she could see.

Something I thought was hilarious ... my dh and ds went in line for Splash Mountain, and a grandpa, grandma, and their grandkiddos cut in line, and when they got to the CM, someone told, and they were asked to leave and get in line Justice. It may be rarer than I would like, but was thrilling to hear when DH told me what happened when they got off the ride

That is just so trashy to just relieve your self in a public place. Hello there are bathrooms everywhere at WDW. AS for the line cutting people are just plain rude and could care less about anybody but their selves. I would probably tell them where the end of the line is in a nice way at first.

There are dozens of bathrooms in WDW! There is even one at the Odyssey building. He should be ashamed.

Several months ago there was a discussion on the boards about the incident that happened at Soarin. Someone said she had been on Soarin the day before and a group of very rowdy teenagers was in line. Nothing was said to them while in line. However, once the ride began one of the girls left out several blood curdling screams and rude noises and the others began laughing hysterically. The beginning of the ride was ruined for everyone by this behavior. Nothing was wrong .....these kids were just being completely rude. The CM's turned up the lights, stopped Soarin, and had security escort the kids from the building. The poster didn't know if they were evicted from the park or not, but, they definitely had to leave the Soarin attraction. The poster also said as the kids were being escorted out everyone else began cheering and making it known everyone was happy something had been done to stop them. I was very pleased to see this had been done because for the past several years it seems to me sometimes Disney is not the "happiest place on earth" nor the cleanest place I came to love many years ago. My family has witnessed many such incidents with nothing being done.....cutting lines, disruptive behavior, etc. I often wonder what Walt would say........

Maybe it was the way I was raised but my parents taught me (and I am teaching my kids) that when you think you see the end of the line, ask the last person, if it is indeed the end.

As for people cutting in line I will nicely tell them the end of the line is back there and if they are rude or dont move I will start start getting loud until I embarrasse them to move. I find that ususally if one person says something more people will chime in. But no one wants to be the first to be 'rude to people cutting in line'.

Why are CMs letting this happen? I have never seen anything like this happen in the past 5 times we've been to WDW. When I read stories of people urinating everywhere I always wonder why people don't insist that a CM does something about it.
It should be a disease controll issue.
I know that the shock of seeing something like this could make you just want to walk away, but now that I've read so many stories of this happening, I'm going to make a point to stop a nearby CM and insist security is called on that person.

If urinating in a water fountain is an ok custom in another country then tell me which one so that i will never go there! It really is universally disgusting, i don't care where you live. And hopping a fence to relieve yourself in public? I don't think that it's just Americans that understand that if an area is fenced off, it's for a reason, you don't belong there never mind take your pants down and urinate. And in what country is it customary to hop in line in front of other people waiting and then steal their money? There is something wrong and it's not just wrong in our country, it is wrong everywhere?

I'm not sure if its nation-wide or just in the state of California but we have something known as "Megan's Law" Its based on sexual offenders and sexual predators. Something as dumb as urinating in public can get you on the list. You have to register yourself as a sexual offender and there is a website where you can always see where these people live. It would have been great if the guy urinating in public was arrested for performing a lude act in public. Thats just my two cents though.

We had something similar happen to us but, WE were the ACCUSED line cutters. it happened at Soarin. This is going to be long. Our group of 11 got fast passes first thing in the morning and left to ride Test Track. When we returned at our fast pass time we went through the fast pass line. Well an elderly women was waiting right next to the entrance of the line and when we started to go through she started yelling "they are cutting me". My 16 DD asked her what was the problem (nicely I may add) and she said "YOU!" I'm tired of all these people just going in line and cutting in front of me. Now I have to get involved because of her attitude with my child. I try to explain that the fast passes have different time slots that you can return to and a person does not have to wait at the fast pass line until their time comes up. Apparently this was news to her. She was still a VERY ANGRY women! I tried, oh well time to move on. Well NO! Her party's time was close to ours and so when we all bottle necked down at the end, she was behind us telling everyone as LOUD as she could how we cut her in line and how WE should be thrown out. Mind you our party only has 4 adults and the rest are(7) children. So now our little ones are being embarrassed and they are afraid we are going to get kicked out. My SIL and I tried to calm them down but she just wouldn't stop. All through the the queue she just kept going and going. Now the CM was listening and I showed him our fast passes, he just smiled and winked. As we were boarding she had some kind of bag that she didn't want to leave on the floor and was arguing about it with the CM, she was going to hold it that that was that, so they asked her to leave. We all CLAPPED as loud as we could. As we were leaving there she was agian waiting at the fast pass line, as LOUD as I could, I went on, on, on about how that was by far the BEST RIDE at Disney. So, ok I'm a line cutter with a fast pass!

I see that you have only been posting on these boards since Jan. of this year. I have noticed over the years that I have been on the DIS that you have a few people that are so PC, that they will make excuses for all rude, crude and disgusting behavior. The line cutting, peeing in public, loud and rude Brazilian tour groups, etc. is not acceptable at WDW. Cultural and language differences are the main excuses made by the PC crowd. If we "ugly" Americans are suppose to conform to other cultures when we travel to their countries, maybe the foreigners at WDW should adapt to our standards. Yes, I have traveled to other countries several times and always study the area I'm traveling to.

I know not all the bad behavior at WDW is by our foreign friends by any
stretch of the imagination, so the standard cultural and language excuses don't fly. More and more people are being rude and crude and excuses are not needed. Toss them out of the parks and let the rest of us enjoy our visit.

A few years ago when they had the Goosebumps Show (I think that's what they called it) at MGM my grandson and I were standing in a group in front of the stage. In front of us was a woman and what appeared to be a 4 year old little girl. The little girl asked the woman to take her to the bathroom and the woman told her just to pee where she was. The child bent down and peed through her pants. The stream of urine on the ground started flowing around people's shoes. The woman and child sounded American. We left before the show was over.
