I had the pup rented this weekend and today was the pickup date so I decided to go to Trails End for lunch and then MK to do a few rides.
When we arrived in the 2000 loop the 1st thing I saw out of the ordinary was a tent that was basically a sleeping bag. Here is a camera phone pic that isn't great but shows the point lol.
No sight of any gear or life lol. I wondered if this is the backpack guy's site. There were 2 or 3 Class A's in the loop as well. I suspect they were from the New Years overflow and Disney had to put em somewhere. There was a couple TT's as well but mostly tents and pups. I wondered why they didn't move as there were many loops half empty.
After packing the pup we parked up front and rode the purple bus to the Settlement. An Epcot bus was at the back of the loop which made it impossible for other buses to pull in. There was a man with a double stroller like you see the moms running behind but like I said a double. They had been fighting to get it behind the yellow line for I kid you not 10 minutes. Why they didn't take it thru the back doors and keep it there I have no idea. A man walked up with his wife to get on and as he was stepping in the driver shut's the door and smashed him. The guy looked at the driver and and said all you had to say was you don't have room. He walked away and said he'd catch the next bus. By now there were about 6 buses waiting on the road blocking all traffic leaving and coming into the fort. I had enough and since the door was open again I stood in the bus and said this is the most rediculous stroller you could ever bring on a bus. I told him to look at the traffic he was holding up. Finally a white van comes up and the guy comes on and has a word with the driver and they proceeded to leave.
Once we finally boarded a bus (unless you have to don't take purple) we had to stop at all the cabin stops even though there was no one there or getting off. We had thought about going to Roaring Fork instead of TE but when I saw the WL bus leaving I said no more buses and we proceeded to TE. I always swear no more TE but the food was actually good and the service was good as well.
The wind was howling across Bay Lake. As we were standing on the dock to go over to MK a small boat approaches and says this boat is going to MK. I saw the big boat leaving WL so I was like oh, ok, so the redheaded stepchildren are once again getting the shaft. On the way over we were kneeled down trying to stay warm. The wind just cuts though and you can't get away from it. We passed a large boat heading back to the fort and I wondered why they were running the little one's as well. I was so glad to get off that boat.
Once we got in to MK we headed to Tomorrowland and they saw the line to Laugh Floor was going straight in so we decided to go in and warm up some. Annie asked me to text her joke in while we waited and as I was typing I see this lady next to me start typing as well. This chic took her joke word for word and texted it and they used it. I know it wasn't Annie's because they said so and so from so and so sends this joke in. No biggy but I thought it was pretty petty. She was like 35 at least and I thought it was immature at best.
Our main reason to go to MK was to ride Space Mountain. Annie hasn't ridden it since the redo and wanted to try it out. They were down and peeps were walking away. We got a fastpass and decided to hit TTA. Going thru we got to see SM with the lights on. Seen it before but 1st time since the redo. Afterwards we decided to hit COP. First time I've ever ridden with a full house lol. When we got out SM was open and our FP's were good so we rode. We were about 40 people from boarding and all of a sudden a CM opens a chain and changed the line. Somehow we went from 40 to about 150. I asked her how this happened and she said it had something to do with the ride being down and they needed to move standby line into the FP line. It still went pretty fast so no harm. The redo seems to have helped loading times.
We rode Buzz and decided to hit HM but once we got to the bridge and felt the wind we decided enough and headed to the MS Bakery for a hot chocolate and head home. We got to the big boat and guess what? It was leaving. Not to worry, a few minutes later here comes the putter and we froze heading back again lol. Took the purple bus to the front. Remember I said don't ride it? We stopped at every stop again. At one stop this guy was about 200 feet away and the driver waited as the guy leisurely strolled to the bus as the door was open and we're freezing.
Getting home without incident just couldn't be in the cards. We stopped in Palm Coast for dinner and as I was turning a car decides he's not and made it where I had to keep going and find another route into Sonny's. I've decided this was the last #@*&^%$#*^@!* time I'm doing a 180 with a trailer. As I turn around I hear the passenger tire on the pup bumping and see it's flat. Not only flat but a nice hole in the side and ruined. Both tires are new so here comes a nice bill to replace it. The same type of thing happened in August but when pulling the 5'er. Almost got hit by a driver who decided to make his own path and instead of hitting them I swerve. Did a 180 that time too and the tire unbeknownst sp? to me went flat and shredded tearing up the metal and plastic skirting before I knew it was flat. Maybe next time I let the driver hit me and I get my stuff fixed on their nickel. One thing I found is a pup is much easier to change tires on than a TT. I think next time I pick up a rental I'll just drive home. Either way, we were gonna be cold today so it may have been at WDW.
