Went to the free Disney Visa Screening in Portland earlier today, theater was only about 1/3 full.

Movie was cute but seemed a little long at times. Plot very similar to first one. Won't go into too many details as I don't want to spoil it for anyone. As before, Julie Andrews and Anne Hathaway really shined. Appropriate for all ages although younger children might get a little bored.

All in all, glad I went but felt they could have done a lot more with the storyline.

My DD and I have been waiting to see it. Maybe this week.

Maybe I'll get DH to take the kids to see this one. I guess I'm getting old because when I saw the first Princess Diaries, I thought "Well, I've already seen this movie at least ten times before." Maybe not with the princess theme, but it's the basic unattractive, dweeby girl wants to be popular, gets a makeover, and then finds the cool kids are not as great as she thought. I don't know how many more times I can see that same movie, but I'm sure they'll keep making them.

I went to the screening in Boston today. Our theatre was only about half full as well. We all enjoyed it. There were some funny moments (although not nearly as many funny moments as the first one). Julie Andrews, Anne Hathaway, and Hector Elizandro were all fantastic.

We had the same free screening here in Ga as well, DW dragged me to see it and it wasn't too bad....I think the kids will like it, however, it was a bit long...about 2 hours.....Andy

I"ve seen the first one a couple of times on TV. I'll wait until this comes out on DVD.

But I'm anxious to see Anne Hathaway's other movie that'll be out soon.

Saw it this morning in Pittsburgh.....there were only about 15-20 of us in the theater.....

I really enjoyed it, but did think it was a little "old" for my DS age 7.....he was a little bored but said he liked it and my DD age 10 thought it was great.
DH thought it was a little slow but overall enjoyable.

I agree that Anne Hathaway and Julie Andrews were excellent.

I also saw it this morning and agree with you all. The theater was only 1/2 full, the plot was slow at times and if I was 10 years old I would have loved it. I thought it was a cute movie. :)

I am soooo glad my son has outgrown these movies! He asked to see Collateral instead of this! :earseek: What a difference a few years makes!!

We also were at the Boston screening today!:wave2:

It was my 8 year old DD and myself. I think my 4 1/2 was too young so DH stayed home with her. I was right...she would have been bored.

I thought it was cute. My DD LOVED it. She thought it was better than the first one and she wants me to buy it when it comes on video!!

We saw it here in OKC. I felt it dragged a bit here and there, but my daughter and nieces loved it. Our theatre wasn't incredibly full either.

oh no! I was going to take all three of my kids to see this. ds11.,dd8 and dd3 . my little one has been asking to see this (loves princess, castles, etc) so does everyone who saw it think she'll be bored?

Too bad we didn't know each other, Beattyfamily. I almost posted to see if anyone was going, but forgot. Opps.

I was with my three sisters, three nieces, and a nephew.

I know, too bad!

I was there with my DD. We sat on the left side of the screen.

We were about half way up on the right side when you face the screen. My sisters and I sat in one row (all of us wear glasses), and the kids were in front of us.

thanks for the reviews! My 6 year old is dying to see it! She likes the first one do you think she'll like this one?

My 6 year-old adored it, as did my nieces who are 8 and 9. I think it's the perfect age, though the teenage girls sitting a few rows behind us seemed to like it too.

Thanks Melessa!

I bought PD1 at TDS and it came with a free ticket to PD2 so I promised I would take Kaylee to the theatre for a special "mommy and me" time :)

I took 3 teenage girls and we all loved it. It was a bit predictable, but we laughed and laughed. Most of the theatre applauded when the movie was over. The girls and I all gave it excellent reviews when we left the theatre. :)
