I did not go out for the super sales this morning, however this evening, while the DD's and DH were watching Frosty I decided to hit Walmart and Kmart....

I am going through Kmart- end up near the front, the Customer Service Desk, as I round the corner, so it's right in front of me, I hear a lady YELL..."THATS IT KMART SUCKS IM NEVER COMING HERE AGAIN"...Now, mind you the store is not really busy....however there was a family with 3 young children- probably ages 3-7 standing about 10 feet from this......the lady continues....and I will quote now, since she really iritated me!

" How could I be here at 6am, I had to work from 5am-5pm today, there was no way I could be here, why cant you just honor the price you offered this morning.."..

Poor girl behind the counter, calls the manager...lady starts swearing to her "friend"..standing next to her...GD store, Fk this place etc.... all the while these kids are still standing there...they are in the aisle waiting to check out next to this...

Finally- in all my chipper mood....I walk up to the counter/lady...and say...

"Ma'am I know your upset, however there is a group of young children standing RIGHT there, and I'm sure you understand they shouldn't be hearing you swearing...."

Lady tells me to Fmyself.... Now...luckily for me, and unluckily for her, I did not have my DD's with me.... I put my arms down on the counter, and say to the lady...."Listen, I don't know just who you think you are, but I can tell you this- Your the one who was not here at 6am this morning....there is absolutely no reason for you to speak to this young girl who is only trying to help you (the Customer service girl).....If you feel for some reason that you should have some special treatment because you THREATEN to leave the store, and never come back, your sadly mistaken.. (Manager Arrives now).....For you to openly throw the kind of words around that you did, even after I told you there was kids VERY close to you proves to me, and probably this young girl, that your money's not worth the hassle....."

I back up...APPLAUSE from the crowd....The lady stormed out of the store....oh wicked witch!.....

Worst part- I went into Walmart next, and who do I see in the shoe department? YUP! Wicked Witch....we cross paths- she looks at me, says "excuse me"...and turns her head...

I just hate those types of people!

Good for you! I'm glad you stood up to her. I'm way too chicken to do something like that.

Why do some people think they deserve special treatment???

Wow!!! Way to go! I just don't understand people sometimes!!!

wow, you are very brave to speak up to someone like that. With the way the world is these days you never know what is going to happen.
But the world would be a better place if we all did just what you did, so I say good for you. And I hope that I would be able to follow your example if it were necessary!

 I guess some people just think that maybe they'll intimidate others into geving them what tehy want if they use foul language and make a scene. Ugh.

I had an interesting experience today ......a woman cut me off in the parking lot at the Mall...she was cutting across a few empty spots at the end of the aisle (the only spots left ;) on her way in a big hurry to a handicap spot at the other end of the aisle closest to the door. (she did have a handicap plate). I had to slam on my brakes and I gave her a dirty look. Then to my surprise as we both exited our cars and walked towards the door she looked back and said "I'm sorry I cut you off, I'm late for work" I said "That was a very dangerous thing to do in a crowded parking lot, and I do appreciate your apology." And we went our separate ways.
I wished I had told her that she'd have been a lot later for work if she'd hit me! ;) but I never think of things like that til later. Oh well, I guess we both felt better after her apology!

Wow! Good for you. I can't stand it when people act that way. There's no reason to get nasty like that.

This is exactly the reson why shopping is the LAST thing I do on the day after Thanksgiving. I just don't have the temperament for it.

You go! That is so cool that you did that! You are probably that customer service girl's hero. What a loser that woman is. If only someone could show her a video of the way she acted, come Christmas morning, just as she presents the gift that she acquired by being a complete jack-__. "A DVD player? Thanks, mom! You're the best!" And now to the file footage... :p

Good for you, so many are lacking in common decency and manners any more. It takes more people with backbone to stand up. I would do the same thing, much to the constant embarrassment of my family.

Way to go!!! :teeth:

'tis the season to be merry...

and if you can't be merry, stay out of the stores!

Yay! Three cheers for speaking up. I detest rude shoppers too. I wish I had your nerve. If I had been the customer service girl, I think I would have hugged you after. :)

What was the manager's reaction to this?
And did he offer you a job??:teeth:

I've been in retail & have had customers "pounce" on my like she did to that poor girl.

When do you start your new job @ K-Mart :teeth:

I'm sure every one of my employees would love to give you a hug right now..lol

It's great to have a customer stand up and tell the obnoxious customers that they are out of line. I think it sinks in better when a "peer" does it. We don't see that often but usually just get a lot of reassurance from the customers that witnessed the abuse we take that the person was totally out of line.

I do tell my employees though that the one thing that I would never expect them to tolerate from a customer is being cussed at. NOBODY deserves that type of treatment. They are told that if a customer starts verbally abusing them with cuss words they are to tell them calmly to leave the store and if they don't, to call security and have them escorted out!

The manager missed most of the incident, he never did hear her swear etc... When I walked away, he was consoling the Customer Service girl. Explaining that nobody was "allowed" to speak to employees that way, and she was 100% correct for calling him, he also said "if this should happen again, and you feel threatened in anyway, you feel free to hit the alarm button. My employee's deserve much better than this"....she was shaken, you could tell from her body language, I felt for the poor girl!

As I was checking out, I was talking to another young girl ringing out my stuff, and I made a comment to her about people's attitudes this time of year. She said she had been there since 11am, and was shocked at some of the tacticks she's seen.

I feel sorry for everyone involved actually....the rude lady- I feel sorry for her that she has such a horid life she tries to ruin everyone elses, and for that poor CS girl...she had tears welled up in her eyes, she couldnt have been more than 18...and to those little kids who witnessed it...I sure hope their mom and dad explained to them that some people are wacked, but most are not!..

Oh well- DH has taken DD1 shopping today, which means I take DD2 shopping (they shop this way for one another),,,,,Im taking DD2 to boarders, I sure hope I don't meet any rude people there..I'm very careful who I confront with my DD's with me...I hate having to bite my tongue!....

Oh the joys of impatient, obnoxious, rude people who believe the world should revolve around them.

Good for YOU!

Like MeanLaureen said a "peer" is more effective because people like that believe the workers WORK FOR THEM...

You are correct, this person his a miserable person and luckily, the only person she has to live with is herself.

As for you...

Good for you for standing up to her! It's not easy to stand up to someone being that nasty! Problem is that these people are selfish, and think that the entire world revolves around them. Too bad you had to run into her a second time that night.

That was great that you stood up to the woman. I am sure the young girl was relieved.

I went shopping and only had good experiences. I was in line by 5am, chatted with a Christian couple about different things. Got in....everyone was passing individuals items they needed if they couldn't get close enough because of the crowd. After my purchase I went back in to try to find my SIL, her first year out on black Friday:eek: I found several friends, got them out of the long lines and into shorter lines. Found my SIL and off to another store. Later went out with my sister, who didn't have a good day. Individuals taking parking spots that she had been waiting for, this happened 3 times in one lot.....Spill her soda at the courtyard......She was not happy. It all depends were you shop. Where my sister was shopping I try to stay away, the individuals there are a lot ruder than the area I shopped at.

Again.....thanks for standing up to the lady.:Pinkbounc :bounce:
