Saw Frankenweenie - Adorable & a few hidden Disney gems!

The previews for Frankenweenie looked pretty dumb but DD and I haven't had much bonding time lately so we went yesterday morning. It's ADORABLE. We laughed, we cried, and ultimately really enjoyed the movie.

Adding to the fun was looking for hidden "Easter Eggs" (Disney related surprises in Disney movies). On Victor's wall next to his bed, there's a "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea" poster and on a movie theater marquee "Bambi" is the featured movie!

It made me wonder if Bambi is going to be the next Disney movie to be re-released and they were promoting it. We shall see!

Did you catch any other hidden gems that I missed?

Those are the only ones I saw but I thought the "Goodbye Kitty" tombstone was a play on "Hello Kitty".

I tried to read the tombstones, thinking there might have been a connection, but didn't see any.

"Shelley" on the turtle's tombstone pays homage to Mary Shelley, the author of Frankenstein.

We are huge Tim Burton lovers, so I've been way excited about this.....buy a fellow animal-loving friend at work told me it will be too sad for me and my kids. *****SPOILER ALERT FOR THOSE WHO HAVEN'T SEEN IT*****She said she heard the part where his dog dies and when he digs her up is way too sad.


Now I'm kinda scared to see it?!?! Should I be?

Im not going to lie, I cried a lot during the movie, but I still loved it.

I cried a few times, but it was not constantly sad, I was glad I saw it. It's a great movie!

Just saw it too. I thought it was really cute. I came home and gave my dog an ice cream and a hug.

Don't let that stop you from seeing this movie. That scene isn't as sad as you make it out to be.

I cried quite a bit in this movie but it's so good, you really don't want to miss it. There are also MAAAANY parts where we literally laughed out loud. Edgar "E" Gore is too funny.

Been wanting to see it but since the nearest theater is 45 minutes away with the cost of gas, movie ticket, so on I try to wait until the movie comes out to Family Video. Easier on the pocket book.

Still waiting for Dark Shadows too. The preview makes JD sound like he has a bad cold or something. Hoping I am not disappointed.

I honestly can't believe I'm the first to notice this but in the initial pet cemetery scene as Victor walks towards Sparky's grave in the bottom right hand corner is a grave reminiscent of "Zero's" dog house grave as it appears in The Nightmare Before Christmas.
