Our family saw the premiere of CELEBRATE yesterday at 3:30. DNephew is in it and was fabulous. I will post pictures later and try to post my 17 min. video of entire show. (A lot of my Nephew). My DSis took pix as well and I'll get them from her. Have to go now to DD's softball game-need to be there by 8 a.m. but I just wanted to post that I saw it, loved it, and will post more later.

I also saw it, but, as I posted in the "Viewing Tips" thread, I did not love it. Though I really admire the performers like your nephew - they are enthusiastic and working hard!

Not to dwell on a negative, but what did you NOT like about it. I haven't seen it yet nor a *parade* like the one so just curious.

I totally wanna see your movie Dizneydaz im sure its great. Cool about your nephew being in it.

But for now you guys can go to youtube and type in "Disneyland's Celebrate! A Street Party" & Part 1-2 will come up.

It's really designed to be an interactive thing with the guests getting into it and dancing along, and that just doesn't appeal to me. Most of the music is NOT Disney music - it's stuff like "I Love Rock and Roll" and "You Can't Stop the Beat". Which is fine, but not Disney. The "floats" were really cheap-looking to me. Cheapo balloons on top, and nothing more technically sophisticated than confetti launchers and those inflated air column things like you see at used car lots. I'd much rather see something like the old Lion King or Mulan parades!

So, is this a parade at DL? Is it instead of the parade that was running with the Characters? Or is it a stage performance? Are there characters? Which ones?

I haven't been keeping up with what's going on at DL lately, but am in trip planning mode and need to be educated. TIA!

It is the new parade which drives real fast between stops. At three locations it stops and becomes a stage show much like the Pixar Parade. If you are not in those three spots then you will see it whizzing by.

My final answer is both, lol.

They changed the parade route also so that they have the entire front area open now. You can avoid the sidewalk at the clock store and go indoors and walk through the Emporium.

Okay, I guess we will soon be seeing details on where to sit and stand, etc. to see the parade. Does it have Disney characters? From what I'm hearing so far, it's not sounding so great.... I love Rock N Roll, but when I'm at Disney, I want to hear Disney music.

Yes, it has all the main characters. Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy and Clarabelle, Pluto, Lilo, Stitch, Burt and Mary Poppins, Jess and Woody, Tigger, Pooh, Gipetto (sp?) and Pinocchio, Mad Hatter, and maybe a few more. There's even one of a girl chipmunk-don't know her name? No, it's not the traditional Disney parade. It's definitely more of a music/dance show. There are a few disney songs, if you listen hard enough.

The female chipmunk is Clarice. She first appeared in the Chip and Dale short film, "Two Chips and a Miss" in 1951. And no, I didn't know that off the top of my head...I had to Google it. :)

Her appearance in Celebrate is so random, but I love it!

Thanks for the info. She was cute! I hope my DSis got a pix of her. I was busy shooting video the whole time.

I think adding the female chipmunk finally gives us some female characters who are not princesses or evil villains. Japanese pin traders love the chipmunks as they are good luck apparently. She is so cute.

Are you sure it is Clarice and not Gadget? I remember the cartoon with Clarice but I assumed they would use Gadget since she is from Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers. :confused3 What was the this female chipmunk supspect wearing? :rotfl2:

She's wearing a green sarong, yellow lei, and big yellow flower on her head.

ADDED-I just googled it and it is Clarice. She looks exactly like the image from 2 Chips and a Miss.

I watched the first part of it on youtube and was uninspired. I agree it needs to be more "Disney". I don't come to Disneyland to hear "I love Rock and Roll". I hope that this doesn't last long. They already had block party bash.....don't they understand the Parade of Dreams is what people want? I am taking some family members to Disneyland this year and it will be there first ever visit.....its sad to show them this and now to see that Remember Dreams Come True Fireworks might be gone as well. :sad2:

I hear what you are saying but I, personally, was getting bored with Parade of Dreams. Of course you can still see Disney (albeit Pixar) ones in the Pixar parade at DCA. :goodvibes

Here's one of my photos of Clarice from Saturday's show. :)
