I think it's more geared toward older kids and adults. There was a lot of loud, scary moments. I should have known when we went on the train tour and kids left the preview crying, LOL. But overall, my DD5 liked it but said she doesn't want to see it again. She had her fingers covering her ears a lot and she kept taking her 3D glasses off. It was a pretty funny movie though!

I was SO looking forward to this movie and we ended up leaving about 30 minutes into it because DD5 was scared.

I have NEVER seen her scared by a movie or 3D effects, so I was really surprised when she asked to leave.

With all of the "jump out in your face" kind of effects that were often loud, I think she would have done better with the non-3D version. Although she also said it was "boring" -- so maybe it was just over her head, in general.

Oh well -- onto "The Princess and the Frog." I have really high hopes for that movie!! :)

I think my DD was bored at times as well. There were a lot of deep moments that you had to really pay attention to.

As a rule I usually really like Disney's movies and Christmas Carol is a big fav of mine but I must say I was not WOWed. It can at times be scary unnecessarily so IMHO. I also thought that overall the story was a little "light" if that makes sense. They didn't explore the Crachits and their family enough so Scrooge's caring about Tiny Tim was a little forced, Scrooge realizing Fezziwigs spent a little $$ but making so many happy not explored, scrooge's lost love with Belle and Fred's wife welcoming Scrooge and blessing him for making Fred happy. I felt like too much emphasis was on special effects and the story was rushed. I would give it a B.

"God Bless us, everyone" Tiny Tim
