I don't normally ask for advice online, but looking for feedback from other adults that have done this experience. I already have an reservation for next week, but I keep debating if it's worth the cost. I know that in the end, it's a personal value judgement. I'm a lifelong Star Wars nerd. This will be my first visit to Galaxy's edge so I have lots to look forward to and enjoy.

But, good or bad, how was your experience? (As spoiler free as possible) Would you recommend the experience to other adults? And what do you do with your lightsaber now?

Thanks for any insight.

If you can book it, do so (hard to book). Otherwise, I think you’ll regret it.

I just did SWGE with my adult son (SW Nerd) and he spent some time trying to find an opening (we asked a few times) and couldn’t. And he shopped alternatives but decided they weren’t a good substitute for the experience. It’s his one regret from an otherwise awesome trip.

Much better to have a reservation and change your mind than NOT have a reservation and change your mind.

I qualify myself as a Star Wars fan, not quite nerd level yet. I thought the Savi's experience was top notch. I admit that I watched a lot of online videos when Galaxy's Edge first opened, but it didn't spoil the experience for me at all. I thought it was even better in person! I also experienced some problems with my light saber when I brought it home. No matter what kyber crystal was in the hilt, the blade would only be red, it's supposed to change depending on the color of crystal (we bought 3 additional colors besides the one that's included at Savi's). I brought my saber back to Savi's 2 years later & they took it in the back & fixed it by replacing both the hilt internals & the blade at no charge plus I also got a replacement carrying case since mine had a hole in it. I know the price just increased but I would still tell any SW fan that it's worth it at least once.

I would also advise if you are OCD, to really look at the 4 different hilt designs. My sister chose Protection & Defense & the top & bottom pieces don't line up & when asked about that, the CMs "reasoning" was that these are "scrap metal" so they aren't guaranteed to line up. Luckily, my Power & Control choices had all over designs, so lining up the top & bottom wasn't an issue. I haven't done a build since '19, so I don't know if that's been improved, but I thought I'd let you know our one issue with it.

I thought it was totally worth the price. I am a big Star Wars fan. My husband thinks its ok but he’s not into it except for he does enjoy watching the Mandalorian. We just had a 10 day trip in May and I booked Savi’s and debated it as well, as I also like some of the Legacy Lightsabers. My hubby told me to build as I would regret it if I didn’t. But we did end up buying some Legacy sabers as well.
As for the build itself, it was a great experience! So glad I did it. Our build guide was an amazing performer. He made us feel totally immersed in it. Even my not so interested hubby came away completely surprised by how nice the experience was and he enjoyed it immensely from his guest perspective and told me afterward that he was so happy that I did it.
As for what we did with it. It is in our study, which has a entire wall of bookshelves. We bought the optional lightsaber stand and its happily sitting on the stand and the blade is in the Savi case you get, leaning up against the bookshelf with the Savi symbol showing. And yes, it, along with the Legacys has been ignited and swung around every week.
Anyway, after my long winded post, the answer is.......DO IT! You wont regret it.

We went to Savi's Workshop last week w/our 2 DDs, who each built a lightsaber. Honestly, you could buy a legacy lightsaber at Dok Ondar's for a little less money, but the experience at Savi's is really great. It's really well done. I got a little emotional during the whole thing. You absolutely totally should do it. It's fun.

This thread has been helpful! My son is a sure thing when we go in July (I didn’t feel confident of the “value” until this thread).

For me- they wouldn’t let me modify our rez from 2 builders to 1 but we also didn’t pay in advance. They told me to just show up and tell them if we were building 1 or 2 (rez is for 2 builders).
is there a reason to have 2 lightsabers 🤣?

2 different hilts plus different colored kyber crystals. there are pictures online of the 4 different categories available, plus you get a matching pin per category.

I want to experience the experience but not sure I need the saber. Maybe I will just try the experience and sell the saber online lol ( Probably not )
