Hello,

I will be sailing June 3, 2004. I am already thinking about booking for another cruise for Dec. 2004. It is best to wait and book on the ship? What kind of savings do they offer?

Thank you,
Debbie

Debbie, we were on the 25 October cruise and got 10% off the cruise price plus $200 onboard credit. This was better for us than the rate from Dreams which was booked about 2 months ago so we are going with the onboard ressie (which is now with Dreams so we get their discount as well). This was for a 7 day cruise.

Was the onboard credit 10%? I rebooked on the Oct 11 Magic and the offer was a 10% discount AND a $200 onboard credit.

What do you get if you transfer to DU?

Yes, sorry, I got carried away when typing. I have now corrected the post. The onboard credit is $200 per stateroom. The amount you get from Dreams depends on the total amount of your booking I believe.

I think you have to also consider the time you are going. If it is around Christmas break time for schools, the prices will go up as the time gets closer. I have a Cat. 10 booked for the 4 Night December 19th, 2004 cruise. It has already gone up $300 since I booked it.

What kind of deposit is needed at booking time? We might book a second while on our first.:yo-yo: :wave2:

Very true about booking early better than booking onboard sometimes.... I booked my first cruise over 13 months ahead and the price went UP over $1,300 during that time.

I would book now, pay the deposit ($250 / person) and see what the rates are when you are onboard. Then, select the best deal.

Your deposit is fully refundable up until 90 before your cruise date.

WOW you can get a DU discount/credit as well if you transfer a reservation.... I thought you lost the ship credit/discount if you transferred the reservation.

Actually, when we booked Donna (DCL) asked us if we wanted to use the same TA and then faxed Dreams to let them know about the booking.

The only thing we weren't sure about was: we had already booked with Dreams. When the rate onboard was better we booked again, we booked that and then cancelled the original Dreams booking when we got home. Does anyone know if we could have just asked Donna to tell Dreams about the better rate and "converted" our booking, which would have meant we wouldn't have had to shell out another deposit. (I know we will get the first deposit back from Dreams).

I didn't think about this until after we got home. Any ideas?

Do you know if you book prior to your cruise and you want the onboard credit can they transfer that credit onto your resv or do you have to cancel your current resv and loose the room that you have to get the onboard credit.

The reason why I am asking we are going on our first 7nt Eastern cruise in January and yesterday I booked land/sea package for Dec/2004 and secured the obstructed navagators verandah 6134 (that was downgraded from cat 6 to cat 7). I was originally thinking of booking on board but I decided to book the current rate and try to get this room. I think I can get the Disney Visa $50 onboard credit (if its going at that time).

Need your expert advise.

We were on the Magic last week and booked a cruise for the same week next year. We received 10% plus the $200.00. I called DCL to get a quote on the same cat. room for the same week we booked and just two days later the price difference was $1,100. That's more than the 10% they had offered. So far by booking on the ship if you include the stateroom credit I've saved $1,300.

We were on the ship the same week last year and rebooked. The rebooking price one year later was the same price we paid for the cruise we were on and we booked that 9 months in advance. By the time we got on the ship this year the price had increased $3,000 from when we booked a year before.

If you have any plans on a future cruise rebook while onboard. The 10% and onboard credit are transferrable to any changes you make. If you decide not to go you can get a full refund of your deposit up until 60 days before the cruise. If you get off the ship and change your mind and want to rebook you can't get the credit or discount.

Can anyone please tell me- if we book a 3 or 4 night while on board- what will onboard credit be?? Thanks!! Oh boy- just a week from today!:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Just wanted everyone to know that we booked our 7 night Disney cruise through www.allseastravel.com and saved over $1500. This is for a Category 4 Deluxe Family Stateroom. I know from some friends said that this is even a better deal then booking another cruise while you're on board. Even when you're getting the 10% off and the $200 on-board credit.

I checked with All Season Travel. For the land/sea pkg I would only save (minus DU's $75) is $63. If we did the Eastern Cruise then we would save (minus DU's $75) only $123. Right now for what we are doing I will stick with DU for their GREAT service.

If I understand correctly and you want to use DU.
You can only get ONE credit on a stateroom. If you book on board and take the $200 stateroom credit from DCL you would not be able to get the $50 disney credit or any credit that DU would be offering BUT you would get any rebates that DU would offer.
At least that is what we were told.

When you book on board yes you can get the onboard credit, but its either the onboard (lets say $200) or the Disney Visa credit of $50 (you will definately pick the $200). Plus when you book with DU you will also (even though you booked onboard) get the rebate from DU.
