savings accounts?

Any adivce on where to get one that I can tranfer money from my existing checking account to the savings online? I need a saving account without a minnium balance since theres not awalys a lot to be saved. Thanks!

Any bank can do this. I am sure your current one can. Just setup internet banking with them.

You can check out ING. They transfer right from my checking account and I don't think there is a minimum balance. I use them and I'm pretty happy.

Discover Bank (the same company as Discover Card) is offering a good rate right now. I just got a 1.34% interest rate for a savings account I opened with them. They do require a minimum to open the account but after 30 days they wave that requirement. Also, I linked it to my brick & mortar bank online for electronic transfers with no problems whatsoever. I'm very happy with it.

We also use ING (current rate is 1.10%). But we also have a local bank that offers a much better rate, so we have been using them less and the local more. Be sure to check out what the rates are near you. Like PP said - most any bank can do the transfers for you. Good luck!

i use bank of america.. online banking, online transfers, online bill pay... pretty much the only reasons I stay with them.

i have an ing, i like the ease and interest rate compared to local banks. i also have one with my bank as an e.r. fund since money can be dumped into my checking in minutes where ing may take a few days so i keep the e.r. one with a small balance and let the ing grow.

If you have access to a local credit union, it may be your best choice. Most are as accessible as Banks and with alot of the economy mess, safer.

I would suggest checking with your current bank...I think any bank that has an online component should be able to do this with no problem at all. I use the telephone banking system from my bank to transfer money from my checking to my savings all the time.

Check out ally bank, ally.com its 1.25% apr one of the highest I have seen.
