'Saving' Pool Lounge Chairs Still a Problem??

There was a thread some time ago concerning resort guests who get to the pool early and 'reserve' numbers of pool chairs by placing towels etc. on them then leaving to return some hours later. As I recall, at least some WDW lifeguards would remove the stuff, freeing up the chairs, if they sat unused for some time. We're bringing a beach blanket to use on the beach at Swan in case no chairs are available, but I was wondering if this is still an issue as I haven't read anything on it lately. Any recent experience with this?

We were at the Swan the end of June last year. There was never a problem getting lounge chairs at the pool! One major plus of being at a convention hotel! They're working all day long! :)

You can always do what we do. When we get to the pool at the Poly sometimes most of the chairs and tables are taken by plain white towels. I get in the pool and every once in a while watch the chairs for activity. If there is no activity for 30 minutes I take the towels off and put my stuff on them. I hate when people save chairs when they won't be coming out for hours.

Wow...this is the first I have heard of this. People actually reserving chairs in advance of even going to the pool??? How irritating!
