I've saved tons of money just visiting these boards a couple times a day instead of the mall. LOL
But seriously, If you want help these boards are the best! Here's a few money saving tips I've learned on this board:
Save change - it adds up
When we save $20-$25 we go to the Disney Store and "buy" Disney dollars. This way we wont spend until vacation.
Join a rewards program (see the rewards forum on these boards) <very time consuming>
HIFS has the FREE buffet, and I understand you are more than welcome to make a "doggie bag" to bring back to your room for later. ummm.........
sorry but im drawing a blank.....well hopefully others will jump on this bandwagon with there tips.

BTY, we are staying at HIFS 9/28-10/7. Maybe we'll see each other.

I laughed about the mall comment, because I just came from the mall and spent $63, something I hardly ever do. Thanks for the funny.

We buy a toaster at Wal-Mart on 192 for about $8.00 (but I'm sure you can bring from home if you want)and we have toaster strudels, hot pockets, bagels, muffins, etc. Not only does eating breakfast in the room save money, it saves time because we have 2 little ones. When we're ready to go home, we usually leave the toaster in the room and I'm sure someone from housekeeping takes it, which is what we intend when we leave it.

I am planning on trying a tip a friend of mine shared with me that she did on their Disney trip last year. Prior to their trip, she bought Disney stuff on sale wherever she found it (Wal-Mart, Disney store, Bigs Lots, etc) and carried it with her on the trip (unbeknownst to the kiddies). Every morning she made sure that she was the last one out of the hotel and left a Disney surprise on each kids bed (ex. T-shirt, cup, stickers, stuffed animal). This way they had something to look forward to at the end of the day and she saved alot of $$$ by not impulse buying on-site. They all bought one souvenir that they really wanted at the end of the trip!! Pretty neat huh?

Re: Eating meals in the room. In case you aren't aware, most HIFS rooms do not have a real kitchen, just a microwave, sink, and mini-fridge. If you are going to get 2 suites anyway, though, and you plan to cook, you could get a residential suite, which has a real kitchen.

When I took my family I was shopping around for the cheapest hotel. The best site for hotel deals I found was www.eTravelSale.com . I have booked a suite room with kid for $110 per night. Check it out...

But TravelFun seems to post the same thing every single time. Looks like advertising to me.
