Beginning are awkward. Let me jump right in.

A few weeks ago the husband and I were talking about Christmas. We couldn't figure out ANYTHING the kids wanted so we decided to start a new tradition of going on a trip every year instead. Great idea, right? So we decide on Disney. This will be the 3rd time we go. The last time was in October and it was a miserable trip. More on that later.

Fast forward to yesterday and I get in a bad car accident. The car is totaled. I'm fine, the dog is fine. The deer I hit not so fine. The deductible is $1,000. Bye-bye Disney trip. I don't want to give up Disney! So I need to raise $1,000 real quick and in a hurry.

Ideas: I just signed up for swagbucks. A friend will let me sell stuff at her garage sale in 3 weeks. I have tons of homeschool curriculum just lying around I could sell.

If anybody else has any ideas at all, feel free to help me out here. I plan on keeping track of my savings and planning in here.

I don't know if this would be an option for you but, in the past I have gone through my jewelry box and weeded out my old/broken gold pieces. It should be at least 10 or 14k gold. Prices are still fairly high and I have made about $500 in total. :thumbsup2

Swag bucks is awesome! I've earned gift cards from there for spending money for our trip. You've probably already got this figured out, but they don't have Disney gift cards so I use my swagbucks for Target gift cards and use the Target gift cards to buy Disney gift cards.

Good luck!! Hope you're able to save the money and go!

Ginner - thanks for the tip! Unfortunately the only jewelry I own are very sentimental pieces that I can't part with. I'm just not that into jewelry.

Howgreat - I didn't know target allowed that! I haven't looked into swagbucks too much and have no idea how much I could get in the next couple of months. I did see that they offer Rainforest Café gift cards. That's the only must do on the husband's list so I was planning on using it for that.
