Saving Chang-tell me your big amounts for 1 yr of saving

Well, I haven't really saved changed really in sometime. However, going on a cruise next year and WDW for a couple days(value resort, bring food for the room), but what is the biggest amount of change that you have saved in about a year's time or so?

Mine aren't big amounts. I don't use cash all that often. I tend to use my Disney Visa and pay it off every month. but, I cash in my bucket every six months and get around $100 each time. If I used more cash, I'd probably have much more. And, if DH didn't dig into it for money for coffee, we'd have more too!

This is the first time we have a "Change jar for disney", and in the last two months we have only put 15.00 into it. We also do not use cash very much and would assume if someone did then it would be much more.

I've been doing this for the last 3 years. I rarely use my debit card as I spend much more wisely if I use cash..so I pay cash for groceries, shopping, entertainment, etc.

If I buy something for $4.01...I put the remaining 99 cents in my jar...I use NO change whatsoever while out and about. At the end of the day all change and any remaining 1 dollar bills go in the jar.

The total is anywhere from $600-$800 at the end of the year! And since it's money that I don't miss...I feel like I hit the lotto each time!

About $20 a month, so $240ish a year. BUT we very rarely use cash... just our $30 each per week for lunches or snacks, and I only roll coins on Fridays. For someone who uses cash almost exclusively, $240 is nothing.

I am SOOO gonna start taking money out of the bank before I go grocery shopping from now on. I too do not use change when out, but usually use debit card for groceries. Thanks.

One of my 3 jobs is being a waitress. I save all my loose change. I don't spend any of it and it goes directly into jars at home! Unbelievable how much you can get in one shift because people don't like to keep their loose change! In our household, all the quarters go into Disney fund (since August, we already have $250 ) and the rest goes in a container for our daughter's savings account (about every 6 months, we get around $150-$200). After each shift, its like I bet myself to see how much I got that day!
