Savi’s Workshop. Please help!

So we are going to Disney next week and all my grandson has talked about it is making a light saber. Unfortunately I had no idea reservations were required nothing is available at all the week we will be there. What are the chances of an opening coming available and if not can he buy the parts to make one on his own in one of the shops? Do they ever take walk-ins?

Keep checking for reservations especially starting 24hrs in advance. People's plans change all the time. Check vigilantly the closer you get to the date you will be in DHS. Someone is bound to cancel.

I haven't heard of them talking walk ins but it doesn't hurt to try.

Walk ups are not impossible, but you are basically at the mercy of someone else not showing up. There are a limited number of spots for each session. Doesn't hurt to ask, but I would not get my hopes up on it.

Definitely keep checking for reservations to open up. That happens with some regularity - the problem is timing it right where you happen to jump on a reservation that was freed up before someone else gets it.

You would not be able to buy the parts for it, at least not the one at Savi's. You can buy fully completed ones at Dok Andors.

I think at one point anyway there was a less involved (and less expensive) option at the shop over by Star Tours. Not sure if that is an option or not though.

Keep checking multiple times a day on the app, you'll probably snag one. I got my last one the day prior while in the park.

While not the same experience you can “make” one at the gift shop.

You can build a much, much cheaper one at Tatooine Traders. If he is young, he may not even know about the Savi‘s workshop experience. Otherwise keep checking the reservations especially within the 24-48 hours ahead of the day you are looking for.

If he's young and is wanting to build one that he can play with do the one at Tatooine Traders, no reservation needed. Savi's is more of a display quality saber.
