While I was reading reviews on Tripadvisor, trying to decide between a room at POP or AoA for September, I noticed an ad that quoted a price much lower than the one on the Disney site for POP. It was Travelocity, so I clicked the link and when I put in my dates, sure enough, the quote was about 20% less than Disney's! Apparently they are having a special right now. Then when I went to checkout, there was a box that said "Hotel Incentive Code." After a quick bit of googling, I found a code on RetailMeNot: GBH15E that gives an additional 15% off your booking! So my final total was an over 30% discount from the Disney rate (the final total with fees and everything averaged about $90/night since some nights were more expensive). I am sooo excited! :cool1: I didn't even think about booking through another site... I guess the only thing I am worried about is not having it linked on my Disney account, and also I'm traveling with a group of friends and it doesn't give you the option to ask for a room near someone else when you book. So I don't know if I will have to call Travelocity or Disney about that. I'm thinking I might just call Disney when it's closer to our trip time. If the rooms aren't that close, it's not a huge deal to me, it would just be nice.

Oh, and the code might work for other resorts, I'm not sure! I noticed that Travelocity has posted discounted rates for a few other resorts so it's definitely worth taking a look. The additional 15% off code apparently expires 5/31.

Yes,it seems like the outside vendors are consistently offering better deals than Disney.:)

I have booked my last 2 trips with Orbitz and saved about $100.00 each trip from my PASSHOLDER RATE!:)

Did you get free dining also?

No, from what I understand you have to book a non-discounted room through Disney to get free dining, right? I don't use the dining plan anyway so it wasn't really a consideration for me.

WEDWDW, I had just assumed that outside vendors wouldn't have better deals. Looks like I was wrong!

Aww man we are booked for disney pop sept 5-8 Nd I booked thru disney we have 8oo of our trip paid for with gift cards

Thank you!! I'm still hoping for free dining, but I went ahead and booked this, can cancel up to 6 days before trip. :thumbsup2

That code ends tomorrow (5/31/13) it's the offer for 15% off of their "Good Buy" resorts.

Wedwdw,

How far in advance do they normally let you book on these other sites? We are planning on going next year, I checked and the rooms are not open for next year yet on Travelocity. Ever have any trouble checking in? I don't think I have ever used Travelocity for anything before. . . thanks. . Keri

Thanks so much for posting. I save $40 off my one night reservation at Universal's Royal Pacific Resort. I had it booked at rack rate. So glad I seen this.

Switched to Travelocity and saved $475 on our trip to the Pop in August. 30% off 2 rooms plus discounted tix for family of 6. One note of caution per the fine print: rooms are refundable up to a certain date but tickets are not.

I also noted that in my confirmation email it stated that some of their good buy hotels charge for children and must be payed directly to the hotel, so I called up Travelocity and they told me that the Universal hotels don't do that. They did say that some did though.

So glad some others were able to take advantage of this deal too! :woohoo: nittanytom, I didn't buy my tickets through Travelocity so didn't know that. thanks for the tip.

I plan to put the money I've saved towards more food and drinks from the kiosks at F&W. :)

These rates are selling out FAST - about 2 hours ago, WL had availability for all my dates in August - now there is NOTHING! So sad I waited to consult my DH!

Holy CRAP they're selling out fast. Thinking about jumping on this and securing our room, worst case scenario they offer free dining and we cancel the res through Travelocity, right?

Thanks so much for pointing me toward Travelocity. :worship: I also hadn't really thought to look there for discounted rates even though I have used them for other trips in the past. I just checked it out and could save about $300 plus I do ebates.com and Travelocity gives a whopping 5.5% cash-back when you start your shopping at ebates.com. For me that will be nearly another $100. I was still able to apply the Retailmenot.com 15% off code too!

I am still double-checking my math and trying to decide between CSR or Pop or ASMo for my hotel...I hate math and this is like a giant word problem!:teacher:

For me it showed the discount I hit the back button to looked at a different resort when I went back to original it said room not available. I hit back and went forward again and it was available again.

If you can get the 15% off its a great deal. Without it, it's the same as the general code Disney is offering. I'm booked through Disney right now for $295 9/13-9/16 (3 nights) Travelocity without the GBH15E code it's $297, with the code it's $252.51.

Okay, I just booked for my dates in July and saved $200 off the AP rate that I had already booked through Disney. This is awesome! The exact room type and everything. Now I just need to cancel my ressie through Disney.

Before I do that, has anyone had a problem at check-in when booking through a third party? Just checking...

Thanks for posting the discount and the code!

Also, can you make requests somehow when you have booked through Travelocity? Like for room location or to note a birthday? How do you do this?

Thanks.
