Saved over 30% on my POP room!

I am not going until Halloween week so no discounts out YET through Disney. I am pretty confident they will do the same for the rest of the year as they are doing up through the end of the summer. That is just from obsessively reading the DISboards, no inside info. :)

I am comparing Standard room at CSR, economy rental car with Alamo, and 6 day hopper. I already have my airfare booked. I also am traveling solo, but even for me it looks like a savings of $433. $2114 at Disney, $1681 at Travelocity. IF Disney offers a 20% Room Only discount for my week, it would reduce their rate to around $1758 which is still $77 more than Travelocity. Then with Travelocity I would get another 5.5% rebate from ebates.com.

Why does it feel too good to be true? I going to go read the fine print again.

Wedwdw,

How far in advance do they normally let you book on these other sites? We are planning on going next year, I checked and the rooms are not open for next year yet on Travelocity. Ever have any trouble checking in? I don't think I have ever used Travelocity for anything before. . . thanks. . Keri

I am not sure how far in advance these deals are available.:)

I booked the 2 trips with Orbitz about 6 weeks before my trips after seeing info about them here on the Resorts Board.:)

I had already booked both trips from Disney using the Passholder rate, but just cancelled those reservations after booking with Orbitz.:)

One note-Orbitz requires full payment at booking instead of a one night deposit like Disney.:)

For my April trip,I had zero problems checking in at all-My DME tags even had "Orbitz" printed on them.:)

Just upgraded the first 3 days of our trip from AoA:LM to AKL for $100!

We love AKL and can't wait to try AOA!!

Travelocity's rate nights didn't change weekend vs weekday, so the weekend nights we upgraded did not cost much at all!

:woohoo:

Thank you!

This is really good to know! I never even realized those kind of travel sites even had Disney rooms available. Have they always offered Disney resorts in their inventory? I book most of my non-Disney vacations through Travelocity/Orbitz/Expedia.

Also, can you make requests somehow when you have booked through Travelocity? Like for room location or to note a birthday? How do you do this?

Thanks.

Once Travelocity provides you with the Disney confirmation number, yes you can.

Thank you, OP! Saved over $100 on just a 3-day stay at the cabins! Plus whatever cash-back we get from FatWallet! :cool1:

Thanks OP! Appreciate you taking the time to post. This close to the trip I didn't think about getting more of a discount but just did. Had already booked through another travel site with a coupon code, but this was even better. Saved another $425 off our 2 rooms, for a total of nearly $800 off the original Disney direct promo reservation and we upgraded to a garden view as well.

Did I say thank you??!! :goodvibes

Are the tickets non-refundable? A previous poster noted that but on the Travelocity site it says you can cancel them with the hotel. Does anyone know for sure?

Hmm. I just did my dates/hotel and Travelocity is more - about $50. What am I doing wrong?

My dates are Aug 9 -19. At Pop. Anyone get a price less than $1000?

Disney's discount splits on the 15th of August. Try two reservations, 9th - 15th and 15th - 19th.
Also, promo code is entered near the end, after getting through a few pages.

EDIT:

I come up with...

August 9 - 15: $524.65
August 15 - 19: $339.49
Total: $864.14

I went crazy with this discount...

Switched my 9 nights at AoA:LM (rack rate) to:

4 nights at AoA:LM (discounted!)
5 nights at AKL (double discounted!)

Total cost increase was $150. Totally worth it for AKL for us!!!

thank you thank you thank you
saved $100 rebooking through this deal!:cool1:

So we can't purchase meal plans even separately through disney?

Not unless the 3rd party companies are selling packages including Disney dining, these sound like room only offers. Often the discounters will purchase just a block of rooms and that is why they are then able to offer them for whatever price they choose. But they're not packages, which is required to add the dining plan.

Did the number crunching, and since DBF and I aren't likely to buy a package for AoA (and I HAVE to be in the LM room) we booked through Travelocity using the code OP mentioned.

5 night stay? $533 and change.

Saved $100! Now that's a HECK YEAH!

:cool1::cool1::cool1::banana::cool1::cool1:

So glad to see that others have been able to save with this discount, too. More $$$$ for food and souvenirs at Disney! :cool1::woohoo:

You are seriously my HERO for posting about this, just so you know. Maybe now I can bring home more than just pens and pins for the fan, LOL :rotfl2:
