Saved over $1100.00 with FREE dining!!!

I do agree with you about the price of Disney meals. We wouln't be able to eat so well if we were paying out of pocket for our sitdown meals. Or counter serve for that matter. There would be more sharing and probably no desserts. I do like being able to let the kids order what they want and not restrict them by price like I do at home. We have been to Disney so much that eating is a big adventure for us. We really look forward to trying new restaurants.

Loving your report. How did you like the POP, what building were you in. I will be there is three weeks, just trying to get all the info I can. Thanks.

At cosmic ray's, the animatronic performer is Sonny Eclipse. I don't really like him either, but I don't think you are really supposed to..lol. He is supposed to be a lounge singer/lounge 'lizard' I think.

They used to have a live band who dressed in futuristic styled jumpsuits. It was very 1985!

Finally back to my reviews.........

Aug 29-Sat-Epcot (day 2)

Breakfast-in the room

Today was very hot. We had ressies at Teppan Edo at 12 noon, so we just decided to sleep in and go right to lunch. The walk from the entrance to Japan was long and HOT!!!! But the waiting area at The restuarant is very calming and cool. We were the first wave of diners and saw the little welcoming ceremony.
Lunch-Teppan Edo cost $96.55
Me: steak and chicken, coke, ginger chocolate cake
DDs: Chicken, sodas, ice cream
Grade: A+
Good:We had a woman chef and she was very finny and engaging. The other diners at our table were nice to talk to, too.

Again life has gotten in the way of my reviews. Sorry. Just got back from a quick trip to New York City with DH. We saw "Shrek the Musical" (IT was great) and did some tourist things!!! Now back to the important things....Disney World!

Aug 30 Sunday Day 2 at MK

We originally had lunch ressies at Plaza for 12. But we were staying at MK till midnight so on Saturday evening I went to the concierge to see what we could get for a later time somewhere else in MK or in one of the monorail hotels. Our choice was Liberty Tree Tavern at 2:40.

Breakfast: brownies and bfst bars in room.

Lunch: Liberty Tree Tavern $79.68
ME: Pot roast, coke, berry sorbet
DD22: Pilgrim's Feast,no dressing or gravy, coke, brownie sundae,
DD14: Pot roast, sprite Brownie sundae
Grade: B+
This was surprisingly good. Our waiter was from Vietnam and was wonderful. We never waited for a refill and made sure DD22 got exactly what she wanted.

A funny thing happened while we were waiting to be seated. A tween boy and his mom came in and just walked into the dining room on the right. They looked around and saw an empty table for about 6. She walked out and got the rest of the family and they all sat down. Now they didn't have menus or the paper you get from the hostess who seats you. When a waiter went over to them he realized what they had done and made them leave. They were very upset and didn't think they had done anything wrong. The waiter did check to see if they had ressies, which they did not. They probably tried this at many restaurants...maybe it worked at some. Who knows.

Dinner: Casey's while waiting for Wishes to start. Now the only way I would watch Wishes this year was if we had a bench right in front of the castle. And that is what we did. We sat on our bench for 1 3/4 hours. The girls walked around Main St a bit, we got our food from Casey's and talked to some new friends who shared our bench.
ME: hotdog, fries, coke, brownie
DD22: corndog bites, fries, coke , brownie
DD14: corndog bites, fries, sprite, cracker jacks
Grade B- Ok dogs and fries $27.15

DD22: grilled chicken sandwich, coke
DD14: penne with chicken and broccoli, sprite, and cheesecake

Our ressies were for 8 but after a few hours at Disney Quest we were ready to eat around 6:30. They seated us right away when we asked. The food and service was good but not that great.

Our last full day: September 1-Tuesday-Typhoon Lagoon

Lunch: Leaning Palms $41.87
ME: chicken caesar wrap, fries, coke, cheesecake
DD22,DD14: pizza, soda, chocolate chip cookie

The food was ok. We sat outside under some trees. I was bird bombed twice while sitting there!! The girls couldn't decide whether to be mortified or die from laughing at me.

Now just to tell you something else funny....My dear sweet DD22 didn't want to go down the Humonga Cowabunga after lunch. She doesn't really like body slides, wanted to just sit and read yada, yada, yada..... So mom was elected to go on with DD14. We trudged the 20 or so miles up and down the steps to the top, DD14 went down. Mom got ready and let go...I closed my eyes and held my nose...I was quickly at the end. The life guard was saying to me and a little girl next to me "Exit to the left please" Well I stood up and good thing I have an old lady skirt on my suit. The bottom of my suit had ridden quite a ways up. LOL Again DD14 was mortified yet was laughing hysterically. Thanks DD22 for that wonderful experience. Oh and she also didn't like the wave pool. The one with the 50 foot wave that comes crashing down on innocent bathers.....like me every few minutes.

Dinner: Chef Mickey's $102.21
We may have gotten too old for the characters this trip. We only saw Mickey, Minnie and Goofy. We were up at the buffet when the others came by. Which was really ok with us. Our ressies were for 8 and had to wait about 20 minutes. Now I know it is vacation and kids stay up later than usual, but there were so many crying kids. My grumpy old lady pants are showing again!!!!!!! In spite of the racket we had a really good time and liked the food and desserts. Everything looked and tasted fresh even though it was near the end.
Grade: B

Wednesday-September 2-DHS

Breakfast: 3 chocolate croissants $9.99

Lunch: Big River Grille (Boardwalk)
ME: sirloin steak with mushrooma and onions, mashed, asparagus, coke, choc cake
DD22: grilled chicken, fries, coke, choc cake
DD14: chicken marinara, sprite, and cheesecake
Grade A
We wanted to go somewher different. After arriving at DHS we rode ToT a couple of time, got fast passes to TSM and left to take the boat to Boardwalk. Big River Grille was very quiet and a nice place to eat after the hustle and bustle of the parks.

Throughout the week we used our snack credits for ice cream, popcorn, pretzels, breakfast croissants. I usually bought a bottle of water when we were thirsty and saved our snack credits for more expensive things. When we were in AK and bought icecream I think our credits were not taken off. She had a lot of trouble with the computet. Then on Wed when I asked how many we had left it seemed like we had more than we should so we got some stuff to take on the plane.

So this is the end of my dining report. We enjoyed all of our meals. Didn't really have a bad one. I will definitely go again with the free dining plan and maybe even upgrade to DDP!!!
