I've been trying to get a pin code for the last couple of trips now by ordering the planning dvd and saving offers on the wdw planning website. I had read this might increase the chance and it can't hurt to try right. NO Luck
The other day at work a co-worker was saying her family had been discussing going back to Disney, it's been awhile and her daughters "want to do it right". Translate that into staying on the monorail line. I was giving her pointers, looking at prices online etc. I told her about the different discounts and told her about the pin. I explained how it worked and said some people say if you save an offer you may get a pin. Like this: I signed on the the wdw website and put in a date for my usual fall vacation time listing the Poly.
Lo and behold, yesterday I received a pin code. The first time ever. It gave me a # but did not say what it was for. I called today and was told it was for 20% off resort until the end of the year and had to be booked by 7/4/12. ( as a side note, those of you who call and ask if you have a pin attached and are told no, I told the cm I had a pin and she said she did not find anything, it was only after I gave the the # i was sent that she could look it up. don't know what thats about)
The bad new is: I wasn't planning to go this fall, as I just went in March to take a friend who wanted to go and wanted someone to go with. I was more than willing to help
not really thinking it would cost me my annual Birthday/Halloween/ Food & Wine fest trip
Now my wheels are spinning. How can I swing this trip. Even with the discount it's out of my budget. I priced the value resorts. It isn't just the hotel but all the extras (airfare, park ticket, food etc).
It's my first and maybe only pin I'll ever get! I want to use it.
Oh well, I still have time to decide and try to figure it out.
