SAVE VMK Hello guys, I've been thinking lately. I want Virtual Magic Kingdom back. I'm not sure if any of you do or not. I think we can save VMK, I really truley do. You may be over the Kingdom by now, you may think you are too "cool" or to old. Well, if you are too "cool" to play VMK, are you too cool to go to the Disney Parks? Virtual Magic Kingdom was a wonderful thing, it doesn't matter if you disagree, it was. Without VMK, you wouldn't have met most of your online friends. VMK was a safe enviroment where you could talk to others in a safe enviroment. I've never seen a game so safe in my life. It was a place you could go to Disney for free at your home. I really want to make VMK come back, more than anything. It meant so much to me and to see everyone just give up trying to save it breaks my heart. VMK wasn't a game or a promotion in my eyes, it was a home.

Now, I think we should all come together and try to save it. We've tried making remakes of it, that doesn't work. It's proabably easier to get VMK back from Disney than try to make your own exact VMK remake. I'm sure some of you are going to say, "just get over it." No. I'm not going to get over it, why can't you just understand it meant alot to me. Why can't you just help us save it? The more people we get the better chance we have at making it return. This isn't going to work without everyones help. So please, help me save VMK.

Yeah I really do miss VMK. And it was my way to experience Disney magic since I haven't been to WDW since the year 2007. I wish Disney can reconsider. But I have lost hope.

It's been over a year since it closed, so I believe there's no chance of it ever coming back now, sadly... Although Ridley Pearson, author of the Kingdom Keepers series which mentions VMK quite a lot, has said this on Twitter (including who he replied to):

@RidleyTheWriter you've got to get someone to bring virtual magic kingdom back plz!

@princessmadiro working on something "close" to that....

@RidleyTheWriter can you give us some hints on the new "close" to vmk game? :D

@Dreamyyy asked about what's close to the VMK game... How about the VMN? The Virtual Maintenance Network in KK2 and KK3...??

So, something could happen. I do know that Disney are making a tie-in website for his next book, based around trying to find the 'missing manuscript' for the book. Maybe they'll make something like VMK for this website?

I really do think that VMK is just over :(
It was fun well it lasted but it just been so long people have been trying for over a year to get it back and just hasn't came back.

VMK is dead. It's over. It's best to stop living in the past. :)

Personally, I thought it was a horrid game that always crashed my computer.

Listen, I'm sorry. I miss VMK as much as you do. I have so many great memories from that game and I was from Beta. But unless Ridley can do something apparently, I think we just have to try to move on and just look at some pictures we took and keep communicating with our friends from the game. If you ever want to share some memories, send me a message. I'd love to hear about your adventures in the game.

its an mmo based off disney world with little quests and crap to do. it just seemed so boring, but i'm not an mmo fan.

Yeah, doesn't sound that interesting lol. I've never played an mmo game and don't plan on it.

I tend to agree with above posters that, as much as I loved VMK, if it were going to be brought back it probably would have happened by now. Also, I've pretty much moved on from it. I'm not saying that we're too "good" or "old" for it, I'm saying that it was fun while it lasted, but all good things come to an end.

Actually, it was not boring at all. It gave you something to do when you were bored. It was a fun place to decorate rooms, do quests, roam MK, play games, chat with other VMKers, and have fun. The quests were NOT stupid, they expaned your knowledge on Disney parks/history/locations. If you were a true Disney lover you would go on it just to be at your home away from home. When you weren't at Disney VMK was one of the closest things to Disney as you could go. IMO, of course ;]

why did they get rid of it?

They got rid of it because it was just supposed to be a one year kind of thing, but instead it lasted... 2 or 3 years? I'm not sure. But it lasted more than 1 year. They got rid of it because it wasn't gaining them any money, they were in fact losing money. There was different reasons too, but those are the main reasons.

I loved VMK just as much as the next person, but I am sorry to say, it's not coming back. Disney was very serious when they shut it down, and of course I was sad, I remember what I made my person wear the day it closed, Gold ears, Blue Princess top, Cowboy Pants, and Blue Princess Shoes. But memories are the only things left now, which is a lot. It's not coming back, when Disney does something like that, they mean buisness.

Nice. I hated VMK. Does that mean that I'm not a true Disney lover? No it doesn't. So you really shouldn't be making statements like that.

I never said you said it was stupid, I said boring.
I didn't mean you weren't a true Disney Lover, I meant if you PLAYED it and you love Disney, then you knew what it felt like, I guess I should have clarified that.

I didn't mean it that way, as I said above. Maybe you shouldn't be making statements like that.

.
Your post said "If you were a true Disney lover it was your home away from home" That implied that only the true Disney lovers played VMK. If that's not what you meant you should have specified more.

I know, and I said I should have clarified more. Sorry. No need to get all mad.

Plus, don't you learn in school that if you don't understand a sentence, to read the rest of the paragraph, then you would've understood more if you picked it apart.

am i the only person that never played that game? lol.
No. I got curious one day to see what it was, and I was on there for about 10 minutes (bored to death) before crashed my computer. I don't 'get' it. I don't understand why people loved it so much. It seemed really boring.
