*warning - I ramble on... a LOT... in this post*
Okay first, can I just let out a frustrated scream??
AAAARRRRGHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!
Ah. Much better.
Okay so I'm going on a trip in 7 days and there's starting to be SO MUCH DRAMA. I just need to get it off my chest to the un-involved as well as ask for some advice - PLEASE!!
So here's the deal:
My BF and I are going to Florida next Wednesday. A guy friend of the BF is getting married on Thursday on a Carnival Cruise and we were lucky enough to be invited to come along with them. There's going to be a pretty large group of friends going along.
Now, we decided to add 5 days of Disney on to the trip after the 4 day cruise (to the bahamas! woo!). So all together its a 10 day vacation.
The wedding is 1 day - actually its the MORNING of the first full day of vacation.
The couple getting married has decided to start throwing fits all over Facebook (yes it is as immature as it sounds) because everyone is counting down until "vacation" rather than to their wedding. Yes, their wedding is the "reason" for the trip. But in reality we would have taken a vacation - most likely to WDW - this year anyways, so their wedding only dictated the timing of the trip. Not the trip itself. I have been biting my tongue because I tend to be an instigator of drama sometimes (apparently my sarcastic tone doesn't always come across so well in these situations... lol). I really feel as though this is a preview of what's to come during that 4 day cruise with this group though.
I'm sorry, but who (aside from immediate family or members of the wedding party maybe) actually excitedly counts down to someone else's wedding? One of my very best friends got married last fall and I was super excited... but I wasn't counting down the days on facebook about it (except to write on her wall "oooh one more week until you are a mrs" etc). This just seems silly.
Since I usually add to drama (because its fun and hilarious
) or just walk away from it (because once it stops being fun its just annoying) - I really need advice on how to keep biting my tongue with this kind of poop. When we're laying by the pool my plan is to just pop in my iPod headphones and tune it out - but at dinners, etc I'll be going crazy!
Well, thanks for listening and thanks for any advice that comes my way!
