Ok so I have been being creative today and I've been attempting to create Save the Dates for our intimate. :confused3 My question is this.

For those of you who made your own....
What did you use? what size? and what info did you send with the STD's?

I have been looking at the magnetic business cards for mine but I think they are sorta small. I can't seem to find the magnetic paper in any other size than Business card and full sheet.

Thanks for all the help! :grouphug:

Here are the ones I've worked on today

I actually found cute pink ones. They fit my theme. At Walmart for 1.50 for 10. I am sending those with Disney planning dvd's.

Were they on sale? Thats a great price. Were they in the craft section?

they were in the wedding section. yes the craft section, sorry. and yeah they are normally 2.50 so still a good price.

 I made my own! I just wrote the date, and the location...and made a pretty picture :) . I also included a magnet - separate from the save the date card - made from the business card sized magnets. I made a paper collage, with our wedding date on it, and went to a color copier at kinkos....copied them out and stuck them to the magnets. I found that they were a good size, but if you get the large sheet you could cut them to the shape, and size that you want. I really like your designs....especially the third one! :thumbsup2

That is a really good deal. I went to Michael's today and bought the cutest little favor box kit. It had 50 little boxes, ribbon and a wax seal for $19.99. And I had a 40% off coupon.

TB--did you try doing a google for "save the date magnets" ? I did and found a bunch of sites that say they do custom magnets, and they seemed reasonable to me. Different sizes, etc.

I think you have all the info you need---are you putting you alls name on that, or just going with "us"? :)

try ebay

Tinkerbellz, they are really cute, but I especially liked the first one. What font did you use?

When I sent ours, I put a 'forward' explaining that Disney do things a little different in that you don't get confirmation until 8 months out, so I put both dates that I had requested. I added that an invitation would follow, and that we had enclosed a fridge magnet too. The fridge magnet was Mickey shaped, that I had sponged in gold metallic paint, then laminate/magnet thru' a
Xyron machine.

I'm having so much fun that I've got a little note book that I carry with me with designs and ideas for the invites and program of events for the day!

Edited to add - ours were folded in half and then measured approx 6x4" and the magnet was approx 3 x 4".

Thanks for the help gang! All three pictures are pictures we actually took ourselves on our last trip this summer.

My plan is to incorporate a bit of an itinerary and more information with the STD. I will enclose a note from the two of us, so i don't think I'm going to put our names on the magnet.

Dee...
The font on the "Save the Date" and "November..." is Wendy Medium and them of course the Walt Disney Script for the rest.

Moonpie...
I'm not suprised you made your own. You are a crafty woman and have made some outstanding items for your wedding. I can't wait to see the pictures!

sorry if this is a dumb Q, but is Waltograph the same, or different?
Is it a free font?

Thanks!

I used a disney clip art (found on the web). I also downloaded the disney font from dafont.com. I wanted to keep ours more on the traditional side but with a unique look....so my creation was:

save%20the%20date.JPG

Hope this helps!

Those are really nice MEME! I love that Disney clipart piece. I use it on lots of things including my autograph books. :wizard:
