Virgin Megastore say Bye...:flower3:
This is sad news. That was a cool record store. I always stopped by when I was in DTD. Times they are a changen. I wonder what will fill the space. I doubt they will put in another restaurant they have to many of those in DTD. When is Disney Quest closing? Virgin and Quest are next to each other. Disney can really redevelop that area of buildings.

Check this out.

A way for Disney to fill the vacancy of Virgin Megastore and compete with Universal over Harry Potter!
Of course, they can always convert those 50,000 sq. ft. of retail space into the latest concept from Schussler Creative, the proud developers of Rainforest Cafe and T-Rex Cafe...

How about... Orange County Choppers America's RoadHouse™ ?

Or the Hot Dog Hall of Fame ?

Maybe Motown Cafe wants to give it another go with West Side instead of CityWalk...

My friend say that:
"I would really prefer they stop outsourcing restaurants to companies like this one. They have some neat ideas and themes, and the food isn't horrible, but it's just not Disney. It's not unique enough. I grew up going to Disney knowing I would get to see and do things I wouldn't get to do anywhere else in the world. Now they have TWO Rainforest Cafe's. Nothing against Rainforest Cafe, they are pretty cool inside, but it's just bad show.

They already have an ESPN Zone, if they want to move it, fine, but there is no need for another one. Create a new theme for a new sports bar, fine. But please stop with all the homogeneity. Pretty soon, we won't have to go to Disney for any reason other than the attractions. We could go to the parks all day, and then go eat at Olive Garden, and watch the game at Hooters, and have a drink and play games at Dave and Busters. Stop at Best Buy for a DVD to play in my new Macbook I bought at the Apple Store, while I finish the night getting a Starbucks. Boy that sounds like a night at the mall. Not a night at Disney.

Outsourcing the food and labor doesn't bother me if the quality is there. In my eyes, outsourcing the theme is totally and completely against everything Disney stands for.

EDIT: I forgot, I still buy CD's too. For the same price I get to upload it all to my computer, get all the artwork, and have a factory backup. I sometimes buy single songs online, but still prefer physical media as I get best of both worlds anyway. 2 " :scared1:

We don't eat at the Rainforest Cafe when we go to WDW because they have one in Toronto. If we want to go to McDonalds we go to the ones outside WDW. So, I have to agree with you -- to keep people in DTD they have to offer something that is different, since we know we can get better prices outside the world.

Also, I'm not sure the HP fans will go to DTD instead of going to Hogwarts at US -- I just don't think it could compete. Sorry, but good try.

I've noticed some confusion on this...

ESPN Club is over at the boardwalk. It is a sports themed restaurant and bar with lots of TVs. As far as I know, it is the only one in the country.

ESPN Zone is more than that - more entertainment complex than just a restaurant and bar. More like an ESPN-themed Dave & Busters. There are several around the country.

There have been rumors for a while that an ESPN Zone would take over the DisneyQuest location, but then rumors of Virgin Megastores leaving shifted the focus there.
