Hi everyone,

I found a site SAVEDISNEY.COM, when I saw the site, it was so heartbreaking. I've read bits and pieces about the Roy E Disney and Michael Eisner story, but to see the site really broke my heart.

Its a terrible thing (IMHO) what Michael is doing and every time I talk about it w/ DH or anyone, I start to get choked up b/c Walt worked SO hard on making his dream come true and now, it's out of the hands of Disney.

When we were there in Dec., we took the Keys to the Kingdom tour and we learned so much about the history of Disney. To know that Walt Disney put so much...creativity, imagination, hard work and devotion into what we call Disney World now and see it ripped away from the Disney family name just to make $ is a terrible thing. Mr. Eisner went as far as blocking the SAVEDISNEY.COM site from ALL DISney computers, I think for the respect of Walt, we need to just kind of spread the word. You may not agree with me, but if you could give it one chance to visit the site, perhaps you will feel the same.

Don't get me wrong, I am a HUGE fan of Disney World no matter what, but I think this was wrong and if everyone could just give Mr. Roy E. Disney and Mr. Stanley Gold a little support, it may go a long way. I can't imagine someone ripping my family's dream and creation away from me.

I'm sorry everyone, I just had to get that off my chest. Thank you for reading this and pls, if you have a chance, check out the site, and maybe sign the petition.

XOXO

FYI ... this is not true. I work at WDW, and work from a Disney computer, and I have no problem accessing savedisney.com. Don't believe everything you read ....

I don't really think a money grubber like Eisner would spend the $$$ required to block a site from all company computers.

There are two sides to every story. When someone has an axe to grind the facts are often slanted to that point of view. Don't think for a minute that the author of this site aren't above slanting the truth to gain some sympathy.

They certainly have my sympathy. It's right infront of the consumer's eye. Just walk into the Disney Store, yikes, it's like the toy dept. in Walmart. It goes against the Disney grain. Ever since the decline in Disney's quality, I've been hoping someone would step up and do something about it.

There are thousands of internet sites on the "Access Restricted" list at Disney. It would cost virtually nothing to add one more.

I have been going to WDW since 1979 when my wife & I went for our honeymoon. We now have annual pases even though we live in Michigan, as we try to go 2-3 times per year. We just got back in early January. I have seen WDW grow from 1-2 on site hotels & 1 park to what it is now. I honestly have not seen a deterioration in quality of services or employees. In all the time we have gone I can't say we ever has a terrible experience. Cetainly some trips were better than others and not everything was perfect. However if bad service and/or experiences were the norm we would not go. There is honestly no other place in the world I want to go on vacation to. I am not sure what expectations are, in todays world "Magical" is a pretty tough standard to meet as everyone has a different view of what it is. Stockholders (who make this all possible) believe earnings are "Magical" and have cetainly driven some the decisions Disney as well as any other company makes. I don't know that if Roy Disney were in charge and operated based upon his wishes whether Disney would be better or worse, however despite everything it is still pretty good right now. I respect everyones opinion, this happens to be mine.

It'll only take about 30 seconds to block a site within a corporation's LAN and it won't cost a single cent more.

Hi everyone:wave2: :wave2:

Thanks for posting, I know, there are always 2 sides to every story...I agree. From what I've read about the situations, I just felt that it was a bit unfair to Roy. And it just put a lump in my throat to think about it (from Roy's side of the story).

I still love Disney World no matter what, we had our honeymoon there two Dec.'s ago and we just came back from there again this past Dec. I'm not going to stop going to Disney, b/c like PATATTACK said, there is no place I'd rather vacation at...my DH and I love Disney World and the magic of it all.

I didn't mean to start any bad vibes on this post, I just wanted to show my support for Roy. I hope you all understand, I am a Disney fan and I always will be.

My DH and I support Roy all the way.

We've posted some photos and trip reports on our site, we're not nearly finished with it though. Thanks again everyone! :grouphug:

XOXO

Thank you for the link.

I visit the parks at least once, usually 3-4 times per week. I have noticed a definite decline in service and some decline in CM attitude.

One example is the condition of the restrooms. WDW used to be known for pristine cleanliness. This is no longer the case. The bathrooms are frequently smelly, dirty (not messy, dirty) and out of supplies. This has increased in frequency over the last year.

This is the first year that I am honestly wondering if I will renew my AP. So, yes. In my experience, WDW has gone into a decline. A marked decline. :(

The fight over the Walt Disney Company is about more than just the parks. Here is a link to an interesting commentary from the Orlando Sentinel about the killing off of the Feature Animation Studio in Orlando.

I understand the enormus profit pressue public companies face today. It is a sad commentary on society today that so much importance is placed on making a few extra cents per share. I know everyone here likes to bash Eisner. But he is no different than anyone else the heads a public company. Their number one goal is to keep the stockholders and stock analysts happy. The only way to do that today is to cut costs, improve revenue, and increase earnings per share. I honestly believe that if the pressure to increase profits that exists in today's market was not as strong as it is, that Eisner would be running the company differently and would be putting a higher emphasis on the Disney culture.

Although I 've only visited WDW 5 times, consecutively in 2002 and 2003, I have never found the bathrooms dirty or smelly in any of the parks. Of course, I only go to the ladies' bathroom, but DH has never complained about their condition. Just my experience. . .

AS far as the restroom, when we were there in early December, several times there were attendants servicing them. I did notice a definate improvement over our June trip (although hey were not what I would call "messy" in June, either).

However, there was also a time that I noticed a major problem...someone had deliberately messed up several stalls, and the restroom had also obviously been cleaned and serviced recently. So no matter how often the clean, unless they are continuously manned someone will think itis fun to mess them up. :(

Parks in general, they are currently adding new attractions to EVERY park...Everest at AK, Stitch and Philharmagic at MK, Stunt Show at MGM, and Soarin' at EPCOT...so to say that they don't care about the parks is wrong...they are not ignored.
