Savannah Hotels??

Not sure this is the right forum but I need some info on Savannah, GA hotels for our upcoming trip. I am thinking about driving to Savannah after work so we don't have such a long trip down and can get to WDW a little earlier. I have somewhat narrowed it down to three hotels right there on I-95 at Savannah and was wondering if anyone has stayed at either of them and your reviews. They are LaQuinta, Quality Inn and Wingate Inn.

The Marriott Riverfront is lovely. If you have a riverview you will see the tankers coming into Savannah. Also, it is right at the end of the riverwalk which is where there are great shops/restaurants, etc. You can also pickup the old towne trolley right outside if you want to use that for sightseeing.

I 2nd the Marriott!! The only ones I am familiar with are the Marriott and The Hyatt! What a wonderful city to spend the night!

After checking into the nearby Comfort Inn, Savannah in 2002, my family and I found the room below standard. We received a refund and went across the street to The Wingate.

We liked the interior hallways, CLEAN room and pleasant staff. The continental breakfast was also well done.

Most of all, I just got a good feeling about the hotel while I was there. We returned there in 2003 on the stopover for our next trip to DW.

The hotel was a little more than some of the other area hotels but well worth it.

It is a place I would not hesitate to bring my family (DW, DS, DD) again.

If you check the bidding for travel web site (priceline bidding) http://b6.ezboard.com/bpricelineandexpediabidding there are reviews for hotels that come up frequently on priceline. I am assuming you are wanting right off of I95 and I believe they consider that the gateway area. I have thought about stopping there but we usually drive to Kingsland the first day but may stop in Brunswick this year.
