Savannah Guthrie’s mother missing

We had a similar case locally a couple of years ago. 80+ year old woman missing from her home. It ended up simply being a druggie broke in, assaulted her and ended up killing her. I believe he had no motive other than he was high on drugs at the time. Very sad and I certainly hope this case turns out differently.
That is sad. We had druggies break in to our house while we were sleeping. They stole sellable items. We think we left the back door "open". I got up to make baby a bottle and guess scared them off. I think the most common druggie would be they want stuff to sell for drugs, not necessarily they are violent. We lived where there was easy access. She lives in a spread out affluent area and they stole nothing.

Not saying it can't be a total stranger but I would be surprised there is no connection given the circumstances they have shared.

I am very scared this woman is not going to be found alive. It's so horrible.

Her camera was removed from the front of her home. Pre-meditated?

Also, the very low reward money ($2500) for her return tells me they know more than they are saying. Obviously they have to keep certain things to themselves, but why aren't they warning people that there is a kidnapper on the loose? I imagine it is because they know who did this.

Yeah whoever I was watching that was doing an analysis of all the possibilities based on the information released believes it is some sort of abduction. So bizarre.

I was trying to figure out what disease she would have that would require medication within 24 hours or possibly result in death that quickly and all I'm coming up with is diabetes.
I'm thinking she has a heart condition. (this didn't post from my ipad last night)
Update: I just read somewhere that her pacemaker hasn't synced with her apple watch since the early hours of Sunday morning. And they found blood in her house. I'm not looking promising for a safe return

If the druggie was only intending on robbing someone, accidentally woke her up, then killed her because she was screaming. He may have panicked, grabbed her body as Tucson is very close to the 10 interstate freeway, thinking to dump her off, somewhere off the freeway in New Mexico, thinking she won't be found there. OR there is another freeway that heads straight down into Mexico. 🙁

At this time it's the Sheriff's Department and/or 88-CRIME (a non-profit) offering the reward. Large rewards typically come from either the family or a crowd-sourcing that has funds.

TMZ has just reported that a short while ago, they received an email which contains an alleged ransom note demanding bitcoin payment for the release of Nancy Guthrie. They mention sometimes ransom notes are sent to the media instead of directly to the family.
"The note, which was sent to us [TMZ] Tuesday morning, demands a specific substantial amount of Bitcoin ... the amount is in the millions, and the note demands the cryptocurrency be sent to a specific Bitcoin address.
TMZ has verified the Bitcoin address is real.
There is a deadline connected to the alleged ransom ... and an element of "or else."
[As proof that the note is legit] "the note mentions an item she has and that she was not wearing it. . . Also it describes another item the sender says was damaged at her Tucson-area home.
TMZ forwarded the alleged ransom demand to the Pima County Sheriff."

And they found blood in her house
I didn’t hear that specifically. The sheriff has said they sent dna samples, but at least this afternoon, reclined to say for there was blood at the scene.

I originally thought there must have been, but then my sister commented, if there was a large amount of blood, the family probably would have called the police immediately, not looked for her around the house & property themselves for an hour before calling.

You would think Savannah Guthrie makes enough to offer a large reward herself.

That's why I'm thinking the current reward is limited by non-profit funds. The family may add more or create a separate reward.

A million dollar reward immediately simply creates chaos for law enforcement to weed out the illegitimate claims.

That’s what I’m thinking, it would just bring out more crazies. The sheriff yesterday said they were working with Savannah’s security team. It sounds like she’s being guided by professional advice, which I would assume includes NBC security resources as well.

I agree a million would be too much. But how about 50K?
