I planned on staying in Savannah on our way to WDW, but a friend mentioned St. Augustine. Which place do you recommend?

Both are great. Savannah is old south, St. Augustine is colonial Spanish/English. Good food, good tours, lots of history can be found in both.

I enjoyed them both but I prefer St. Augustine because I learned so much from our tours. You can't go wrong either way.

I live an hour from Sav and three hours from St Augustine. I love them both, but since I go to Sav about every weekend, St Augustine is something special for us to do. Both are great for tours, but I do love the carriage rides around St Augustine. If you are planning any shopping, St Augustine's outlet malls are the best!!! We love to hit those up!!;)

If you're just stopping overnight and not touring, I would recommend the Comfort Suites in St Augustine at the World Golf Village. It's right off the interstate, very clean and comfortable.

We just spent a very romantic weekend in St. Augustine. We absolutely fell in love with this city. We stayed at the Cedar House Inn in the historic dowtown area and let me tell you it was wonderful!!!! I would not hesitate for a minute to go back and stay at the same inn. We didn't drive anywhere. Everything was within a very short walking distance.
