Savanna View

Sunset savanna has giraffes and zebras, Pembe, the smaller savanna at Kidani, does not. Most prefer and request Sunset and getting it has a high chance of being granted since more than 80% of the savanna view rooms at Kidani have Sunset savanna view.

There are many good views along Sunset savanna. The more important factor is distance of any room to lobby, pool, and buses. The Kidani building is close to 2/3 mile long, one of the longest single hotel buildings in the world (and I mean on earth not just WDW). As a result many make requests to hopefully limit the distance from room to lobby, pool, and buses.. My preferred two requests are for a room either close to the Rafiki elevator (which provides shortest trip to pool and striking distance to lobby and bus stop) or close to the Timon elevator (which puts you very close to bus stop and striking distance to lobby and pool). Both those areas also have very good animal views.

Agreeing with everything you said. I’ll just add that if you don’t mind the hike to the Kidani Pool, rooms near the Zazu elevator offer an easy trek to Jambo House. And the hike to the pool isn’t that bad if you walk outside. Kidani is arranged in a semicircle, and if you walk outside you can bi-sect the semi-circle through the parking lot to get to the pool.

Yes, to describe it as a "hike" to the pool is kind-it's a very long way! However, my main concern was getting to Jambo to eat at Mara, and it was great for that. But I was on the fifth floor, and it was much better when I was on the second (main) floor to see the animals.
