Is the sausage in the appetizer the same as the sausage they serve in the AYCE skillet?

I certainly hope not, but I'm afraid so.

(I have no idea who told the people at WDW that a piece of crap Jimmy Dean breakfast link belongs on a BBQ skillet or a sausage and cheese plate!!!)

We've gotten the AYCE skillet many times and it has never been Jimmy Dean sausage. That's funny!

Well, maybe not Jimmy Dean, but it was a piece of gray, ground up, pressed together pork sausage like you would expect to find in a biscuit. The texture and flavor were all wrong.

I want something in a BBQ sausage that looks like this, as the Good Lord intended:

Every time we have had the skillet it looked like the sausage in your picture but just not cut up. We've had the AYCE skillet at WCC probably 20 times and have never had gray, ground up sausage. Strange.

I've had it several times too, and it's hard to describe the difference if you haven't had both. It's just very, very different than what I would get on a bbq platter here at home. The sausage I prefer is more like an andouille sausage...a totally different texture than what I've found at WCC. And the taste is very different, too.

It's kind of funny, I found a trip report I wrote a few years ago, and I mentioned the sausage in the skillet and how DH and I didn't like it! :rotfl: In fact, I think I called it Jimmy Dean breakfast sausage THEN! hahaha!

I guess since no one else has responded, it's safe to assume that the answer to my original question is yes...the sausage in the appetizer is the same as the sausage in the entree.

p.s. DaisyD...come to Memphis and we'll take you to eat some real BBQ! You'll never look at the WCC skillet the same way again! :)
