Saturn VUE or Pontiac Torrent?

I drive an '08 Vue and I like it all except that crazy center console. If that's important, keep looking. The cup holders are too low and the arm rest is practically in the back seat. And please don't have a full Big Gulp in the cup holder and have to make a sudden stop. You'll end up with Diet Coke in the gear shifter (is that what it's called? I'm auto terminology challenged.) Useless, that console is. I'm used to it, though. As far as roomy....I don't think it's any roomier than a car, really. We can put just as much in the back of dh's Saturn Aura as we can in my Vue. Same for the back seat. We have 10, 8, and 6 yr old kids and they fit about the same in both back seats....on the tight side. I wouldn't even consider putting 3 teens or adults back there regularly. I got the 4 cyl to save on gas but it doesn't get as good as I was hoping for. We just got back from a road trip and averaged about 24 mpg highway driving 65-70 with the a/c on. I guess that's decent but I was hoping for closer to 26 mpg. My 4 cyl Vue appears to get right around the same gas mileage as dh's 6 cyl Aura. :confused3 Consider taking a pass on heated seats. I learned heated seats make me feel like I've pee'd my pants! All in all, I'd buy a Vue again and I'd buy Saturn again. Ok, well neven an Aura. Dh loves it and I hate it, but I digress. We've received great customer service from Saturn. They even called with birthday greetings. :lmao:

We bought a 2004 Vue a few weeks ago and I love it. The older Vues have Honda engines in the V6 and end up getting great mileage - better then some of the 4 cyl. It is nice and roomy and drives very smooth.

DH and I just looked at the Torrent and Vue tonight. We have been looking at Envoy Denali's, but can't find one in the color I want so I tried the Torrent /Vue.

I think the back seat in both of them were small. I sat in the back with DS (9) and myself and unless the other person was little or we weren't going far, it wasn't going to be a comfortable ride.

DS is 5' and 90 pounds. I'm 5'3" and 125 pounds. If we put DD's car seat back there it was even worse. I ruled both out. I love the Saturn Out look but of course its not part of the 0%.

I would go look at both of them because by looking at them from the outside I thought they were both bigger, but obviously weren't.

We have a 2002 VUE. We got a 4 cyl. and now that gas is super expensive I am so glad we did! We get close to 30mpg (around 27-28 on average).
