Does anyone own a 2003 Saturn sedan? I am looking into them and I want to know how you all like the performance, gas output for milage. I think I am going towards that car more then the Ford focus.:D

We have bought 4 Saturns in the past 5 years. They have been reliable and we're pretty happy. DMIL has a Ford Focus, and I can say that I think it is more comfortable.

I don't own a 2003 but I love my saturn. It is my second and i will be buying my third in a few months:). My Dh the Honda Lover even likes it. I have never had any Mfr. problems. One thing I will say is I had A ford forus as a rental car and HATED IT I was impatiently waiting to get my Saturn back. I found the focus to be very backwards in a lot of things, The way the windows cranked, the ignation, the unlocking method of the door, the fact that there was only an outside lock on drivers door.

Now this is just MO and seeing as I grew up in a GM family it comes easily that I'd prefer a GM or a Ford.

After owning four Honda Civics, I bought a Saturn SC2. It was one of the super yellow ones with the black interior and cool rims. I liked it - especially at first. But after awhile the interior starts to feel very, very cheap. They're not THAT inexpensive to buy, so I was pretty disappointed by the interior. (Flimsy seats, the control panel is lit by a light shining against it instead of being truly back lit - just small things like that. But they add up.)
It got good mileage and was reliable - for the time I had it. I only had it for a year or two. I got hit in it and it just wasn't quite the same after that. (When I got rear-ended, both seats broke completely away and I was looking up through the moon-roof. And there wasn't even anyone in the other seat. It just broke.)
I went back and bought another Civic. Those things are super reliable and get better gas mileage. Plus they don't cheap out on the interior.
So I guess I liked the Saturn, but not enough to stick with it.

I have a "97 Saturn SL2 (they don't make them anymore :( ) and love it. My mechanic hates Saturns, b/c he says their hard to work on, but he doesn't see it often. Plus it's paid for!

I just purchased a 2003 Saturn SL200...with all the options available. Previous to that I owned 97 a Saturn SC. My DS was in need of a car when he graduated College, we looked around in his price range and were not pleased what he could afford. We basically "sold" him the 97 SC on time and I bought a new one. Saturn has been fantastic with us on the first one, service, reliability ect.., we felt very confident on him driving the older one and me purchasing a new one. :)

I'm on my second Saturn. The first lasted for 10 years and over 150,000 miles. It only started to need any kind of servicing, besides the usual stuff, in the last two months. I traded it in for a limited edition 2002 SC2. It's silver with black trim and black ground effects, and racing wheels. It's SO COOL!! I call it my mid-life crisis car!:p I've had it since last August and haven't seen another car like it on the road since I bought it (even when I take it to Orlando!) It's a real conversation starter, and I love being unique!

I LOVE my saturn. This is my second one because I had to have a purple car and when I bought my first Saturn I told my salesman that if Saturn ever had a purple car i would be back to buy it. Sure enough after I had had my 94 SL2 for 2 years they came out with a purple one. So I traded my 94 for my current 96 SL2. I am now very much in love with the new Saturn VUE...the electric blue one. I love my purple but I need something bigger so I'm going to be getting the blue one in sept or october.

My car has never given me any problems until recently and now it is starting to show its age and mileage. But I shouldn't have any trouble trading it in for a new one.

Go for the Saturn!!!

I have a client who is the service manager at our Saturn place.
He told me they have had a lot of problems from the new bigger Saturns that are out this year (I can't remember the name though). The Ions are fine but this newly designed sedan that is taking the place of the S series, I believe, has given the service dept. some problems. Esp. in the way the tires are preforming.
