Howdy Campers!!!! How was your week?
Well, we here at the Saturday Night Chat Institute Of NyQuil and Television Studies (The S.N.C.I.O.N.T.S.) have had an up-and-down type of week. . . we lost the remote control AND the
TV Guide, so out of desperation we were forced to actually get up and down from our leather recliners and manually turn channels, adjust the volume during used car commercials, and scan the airwaves for classic Baldwin Brother's flicks!!! Oh, the humanity!!!!!!!!!!!
It was a very tense and trying week, and I am not proud to report that I spent many hours crawling around the institute vainly searching for the remote and weeping like Jimmy Swaggert , while poor Sonja just sat in a corner stroking an old TV Guide and muttering classic lines from the "Gomer Pyle" show to herself. . . ("Gooo . .ooo. .. llllyyyy" "Pyyyyiiillle!!!" "Sgt. Carter; Sgt. Carter" . . . I tell, it was heart wrenching to see. . .
) But just when things looked darkest, and we had given up hope of ever having a meaningful or fulfilling life again, low and behold we found it!!!! Somehow it had fallen in the hot tub during last weeks chat, and had stuck in the drain. . . the only thing that saved it was luckily one of Jay's discarded G-strings had wrapped around it and snagged on the drain lid, which prevented it from being sucked down and out to sea- lost to us forever.
With joy in out hearts and several pairs of thick rubber gloves on, we fished it out, unsnarled it, dried it, and much to our delight, it worked as good as new!!! We spent the rest of evening happily clicking through the channels and finally fell contently asleep to the warm glow and soothing sounds of an "Iron Chef" rerun. . .
. . .
It was a near disaster friends and neighbors . . . we stood on the abyss and yet somehow survived. . . at times the only thing that preserved our sanity was to remind ourselves and take comfort from the motto we live by here at the Institute. . .. "Warning!! Immersing Your 'Salad Shooter' In Water While Plugged In Could Result In Injury Or Death!!" . . .
Anywhoo, things worked out for the best, so to celebrate we are excited to announce that tonight, Disney After Dark will be heading to the beautiful Swan and Dolphin hotel complex where we'll be dining at one of our favorite places- Palios!!!
This elegant Italian bistro has gone through some changes lately, but they still serve up a mean plate of pasta, and the wine flows like water. . . it's a classy place, so please wear your formal Speedo's and do not ask the strolling musicians if they know any "Black Sabbath" tunes. . .
As always, the food and drink are on the house and everyone is invited. . .so fire up the computer, send the family out to comb the neighborhood for clues to the Chandra Levy disappearance, and join your chat hosts Sonjarella and WillyJ. this Saturday night in the Main Chat Lobby at 9PM EST. It's a lot of fun, and a great opportunity to hang out with your fellow DIS'ers and get to know each other better in a relaxed, informal atmosphere.
As always, general Disney or Universal questions are encouraged and appreciated, and there will be a room full of Orlando veterans there to help you out. . .
Everyone's invited, so see ya there!
