Saturday Before Daytona

We will be heading to Orlando late Thurs. night early Fri. morn. We are trying
to decide is Sat. Feb. 18th a good or bad day to go to MK? Would Sun. the 19th be better? I know the daytona 500 is that weekend and just want an
idea what day would be the best. We will be in Orlando from the 17th to the 24th. Help this is our 1st trip so we are trying to plan the best we can.

The 18th starts the winter break for the schools in the New England states and Disney had been busy every year that we have gone during Presidents week. So be prepared for the parks to be crowded.
We had to reschedule our vacation because there were no DVC studios available for the week of Feb 18 - 25 this year.

Hi, we went to Disney in 2003 and drove over to Daytona for the Sunday race. The crowds were as they always are in February - tons of people. I'm not sure if the crowd level dipped on the day of the race. My guess is that families that are at Disney for that week don't really plan on going to Daytona. We did because we are race fans and it was my husband's birthday, it worked out well since we were already there. Have a great trip!

Just wanted to add that we were there last year during president's week & MK was by far the most crowded park! Sometimes 2 1/2 hour waits on popular rides. It may have been a late EMH day for that park the day we chose, not sure! So definitely make sure you don 't go to MK on an late EMH day & perhaps plan to get their early. ( I have always read that early EMH days & early in the morning is best for MK) JUst have patience & be flexible on what you want to ride--make sure you go get a fast pass for your most desired ride early! go to MK on tues. I don't know why but we go every year around the same time you are...and tues at MK has always been the lightest as far as crowds....it will still be crowded though
