Hello. My family just planned a trip to FL for late May, going from Sunday-to-Sunday, with the first four nights staying at BCV on our points. We just learned that on the day we were to fly home, my daughter has a dance recital that we would like her to take part in.

So...now we're thinking of changing our trip to Sat.-Sat. It will mean more BCV points to stay on a "weekend", but we'll save some by getting cheaper flights on Saturday.

I'd like to call and make the flight changes now while the cheapest fares (Southwest) are still available, but I just want to be sure I'll be able to reserve a room for Saturday night at BCV. I ASSUME that weekends are the easiest to get a room with points (was able to make the weekday reservation a couple of weeks ago with no problem). Has this been your experience?

Thanks.

Jeff

I think you are probably fine. If you don't get it initially, you will probably get it via the waitlist, but my gut is you will be able to add one Sat nite pretty easily.

Or just book your air, drop one night and just go for 6 nights? And look at the points you are saving, plus you only have to change one leg of your flight.

OK guys, maybe I'm not awake yet but how is Sat-Sat less points than Sun-Sun unless it is a change of seasons? :confused3 Don't both entail a Friday and Saturday stay?

Good luck with your plans, Jeffrey. :sunny: Let us know how it goes.

Thank you all.

I was able to get the Saturday night at BCV without a problem.

As I mentioned in my post, we were only staying the first four nights at BCV (the rest were at my parents in FL). So changing to a Saturday-Wednesday stay means 38 extra points. But we saved about $200 on the airfare. We could have cut a day off the trip, but we'd really like 4 days at Disney and my parents would be disappointed if we cut a day off visiting them.

Southwest in INCREDIBLY great to deal with for changes and the such. Had a mix of free tickets, balance from a cancelled flight and cash, and they handled it all so well, no fees, happy to save me the $$$ and help me get what I wanted. Super friendly...and the only direct flights from Albany, NY to Orlando.

So...wife is happy, parents are happy, and I get to do a race on the Sunday morning after we get back that I thought I would have to miss.

Again, thank you.

Jeff

Jeff glad to hear the good news...Would love to know how any sat out of ALB is "cheaper" than a Sun... :rotfl: ...you must not be traveling on the break weeks. Have a great trip. :sunny:

Yep, it was too early! ;)

I'm glad it worked out for your family. It sounds like a win win! :cool1:
