SATs

French...funny memories. My French teacher last year was the mother of one of the kids in my grade. (There was NO ONE else to do the job so they sort of drafted her, lol) Lets just she she didn't like dress codes. She did not dress like a teacher, and she did NOT dress like a middle aged woman should dress. Cleavage was a bit of a...problem with her. She wore extremely tight clothing over her skin (which was starting to wrinkle), and she had the MOST ANNOYING accent you have ever heard in your life!! And to top it off, she liked to bend over..and..you read the cleavage description, right?

I'm so sorry. When I was in middle school there was a teacher (I never had her) but she was around 45 and dressed like a 16 year old model. She was not built like a sixteen year old model. She was orange from tan lotion, and had dyed orange (maybe she was going for red?) hair. There was many a time that SHe'd bend over and you could clearly see the "VICTORIA'S SECRET" on the back of her hot pink thong.
:scared1:

omg! That's Madame except my Madame had bleach blonde hair! She had the fakest tan ever! And when you are 45, you ARE NOT supposed to wear low rise pants!

or a hot pink thong. and if you are that old and just simply have to have a hot pink thong, I don't want to know about it.

As someone who is graduating college in May, the SATs really don't matter as much as they make it out to be. If the rest of your college application is stellar and you do a strong interview, they will probably see that if you did do poorly on your scores it was just a fluke sort of thing. Of course when I took them they did not have essays on them but we still had to do analogies and those sucked.
I got a 1230 out of 1600 and was accepted into one of the top universities in the midwest..so don't stress. Most times colleges use SAT scores to pick between two very qualified candidates.

In Tennessee, colleges don't care about your SAT score. They don't even really want to see it. But with an ACT score of about 24, you can go anywhere you want to, even if your application isn't stellar.

I'm in a program at my school that gives me all of this information. I get pulled out twice a month to work on college stuff, even though I'm a freshman. I've got amazing test scores and a high IQ, and even though I've not even finished my freshman year, two colleges are harassing my email account offering me first choice on classes/dorms if I go there. If I stay with this program, I'll get first choice at any college in the state of TN, private or state colleges.

I'm leaning towards UT-K though. I just love that school.

I have the near perfect GPA in all honors and AP courses, a bunch of clubs, and the SAT coming up. What's different between me and a lot of people is that I don't do a sport or act. Two language classes (Spanish and French) do a little to defray that, but I'm counting on stellar SAT scores to be the WOW factor. Tests are big in this town.

SAT scores will never be the WOW factor for anyone. They just don't show enough of what kind of student you will be for schools.

That is very true!

I'm a 2nd semester senior now, and I've taken all AP classes that you can take, and now I question why I even bothered to do them. If you have a 3.0 GPA or more, you have automatic admission to the state college of choice. I'm not planning on being in the honor's college though. Too much junk. I don't love school that much.

The only good side I saw was scholarships. I have a full ride for my 4 years

I don't want to go to a state college though. My top choices are Yale, Swarthmore, and Haverford.

 2314! That's awesome! I thought you were a 9th grader though..did you take them early?

Yes I did take them early. I was really surprised with my score because I was very easy about it and didn't worry. When I saw it, I actually jumped up and down. :)

Haha, and right now we are taking the easiest tests ever and it is stupid. :sad2:

I'm graduating with like 25 credits.

I know this is totally random regarding this particular conversation but how many credits do you NEED to graduate? I know you're intellegent so that's obviously not why I'm asking but we need 22 minimum to graduate up here. Just curious to see the difference.

Thankfully, I'm done with SAT's for life. I took them twice, and I did pretty well for myself for someone who did very little in preparation for the test. I did better than most people who took $800 courses.

Anyway, good luck to anyone who's taking them tomorrow! :goodvibes
