Sorry, I was gone and did not pay attention to my polls. But here is the compiled results for each resort. I am very pleased with the high ratings - I take anything over Average as a plus. These polls are not scientific, but they do put all the negative complaints into perspective. Even BCV, which has been hard hit lately, was almost 70% better than average. I must admit that I was surprised by the strong showing of the off-site resorts - having never stayed there, I was not sure how they would do.
Don't be disheartened if you have SSR - it is new and I am sure most of the problems were related to that or construction - it appears to be ontrack I am sure will reach the high levels of each of the other resorts.
I have posted links to the polls under each group so you can see the results and posts.

I have to wonder if the polls aren't skewed a bit.

SSR only had 36 people vote while BCV had 139 voters. And while it's nice to see all the percentages above average I have a hard time believing people would shell out the kind of money they do for DVC and then say they don't think they are all that great.

I think it may be different with regular hotels, but everyone here has invested a lot in DVC and may be hesitant to be too critical.

On the other hand, I would expect nothing less than above average from DVC which is why I bought it in the first place.

Disney tracks guest satisfaction at all of its venues. They are particularly focused on percent rating excellent. All other scores represent opportunities for improvement.

Ah, but that's why scientific polls are so hard to write - and interpret; what does "Excellent" mean? WDWguruDH said that "Excellent" meant "exceeded expectations". Well, to me, if I go to WDW and have all my expectations met, that's pretty darned "Excellent". But to someone else, unless they see every Character the first day, hear "Welcome Home" 3 dozen times, and have Jane (or Tarzan) drop by for a few drinks, their experience may be "Fair".

And I'm with anniet: I'm glad that WDWguruDH ran these polls; I'm just not sure what to make of the results.

I think most people here are pretty honest - there have been negative reports on all the DVC resorts.

Disney sets itself to a much higher standard than the other theme parks and resorts - DVC is treated like any other resort - with a couple of exceptions - owners are more likely to complaint if anything is wrong - DVC knows this and tries their very best to fix any problems immediately....and in my opinion OKW has the very best CM's on property.....I would hope in a few years that SSR can say the same.

SSR owners give SSR time it is a new resort - all new resorts have problems DVC or WDW or Marriott or Ritz or Hilton or Hyatt - they need guests to see what the problems are so they can be corrected.

if you second visit is not much better than your first - then I would sit down and write a letter explaining to both WDW and DVC what went wrong and how they can correct it.

I agree with DrTomorrow.

I stayed at a hotel on Long Island last weekend for a family reunion. It wasn't a bad hotel, but it was not Disney! I paid $107+tax per night for a room that was less than what you would get at the AS or PC.

Once again, all the silly discussions on this board about "whose resort is better" and "whose CMs are better" were put into perspective. I paid very good money for BWV and BCV and I am very very happy!

but everyone here has invested a lot in DVC and may be hesitant to be too critical.

I think it would be the opposite - if you spend $150 for a night and something is missing or not just right - oh well. But when you spend $10-15,000, you want more. On top of that, this is Disney(creates high expectations) and DVC'ers are the Disney regulars; I think this group probably has higher "expectations" than just about any large group that travels. Yet these numbers are real high. I travel a ton for work, if I went into a Hilton or Marriot with the same expectations I have for BWV, I would hate every other visit.

I agree with WDWguruDH. We are one tough group to please and we know just how well Disney can perform.

To their credit they continue to amaze and delight us with consistency!

We spent our $10,000 to $15,000 for more than one night of stay, so I can not compare $15,000 to $150 for one nights stay.

My children are spoiled by DVC. They will always expect the same accomadations where ever they go as they have had at the DVC resorts. Imagine if they were just as good.

In the polls, I assume each gave there own meaning to excellent. So if they voted excellent, it was by there standards. I think that most DVC owners are very happy with there purchase. I see a lot of owners have added on to there initial purchase. If we were not satisfied, DVC would not grow as it is.

guru....nice to see you back here! I did a couple of compilations while you were gone on another thread, and got some lessons in statistics from some very knowledgeable people!

I think the satisfaction ratings, in general, are pretty high. I tend to agree that people here, in general, have very high expectations (as they should) and meeting them is a very positive thing.

I think this thread is a good one to keep handy as any particular resort cycles through a period of "bad reports". I believe that Disney should absolutely address any concerns that the members have about the quality of their stay. But I also think that these polls remind us that most visits end up with satisfied impressions. Kind of helps to keep things in perspective.

I hoped you saved your poll that shows BCV is in dire straights as does this poll. I really have to question your statement regarding these matters, they are very suspect. I rarely say anything personal here on these boards but as anyone can plainly see BCV is in big time need of help. What you have to keep in mind is that for the price of $289 to $1555 per night there should never be a problem. That should be the standard and for whatever reason, BCV has fallen way down. Your denial of this situation is really beyond reality.

I am with Granny -I really think in time BCV will improve.

when the resort is completely booked night after night - it is hard to do maintence.

If the owners are new and don't immediately complaint to housekeeping/maintence - then they are leaving the job to the next guest - complainting when you leave does not help.

you must complaint when you are in the room.

maybe I should change the complaint to comment - maintence can't fix what they don't know is wrong.

the maids/housekeeping will not tell them - these people don't speak enough english to tell anyone anything - the job doesn't paid enough for english speaking CM to take it. besides it is not their job.

if you want something fixed then you need to tell.

I would tend to agree with WDWGuruDH. Spending the amount of money that I did on DVC I think would make me more inclined to point out the bad easier. I certainly wouldn't be inclined to sugar coat the quality of my stay. If something bothered me I'd bring it up right away.
