Where I work, I get NO radio reception and I have just had it. My DH and I were in Best Buy tonight and I noticed the satellite radio, but have onlyl heard about it for cars. The guy said that you can get it for home or office in a portable system.

Said there are two...XM Satellite Radio and Sirius Satellite Radio. Was looking for some comparisons on the two.

Thank you:)

We had XM radio since last Christmas and love it! The reason we went with XM was that the monthly cost was less and the stations seemed compariable to Sirius. But one thing to think about is that I have heard that sometimes your reception inside may not be the greatest, we use ours only in the car right now. So you may want to check your reception in your office, either by borrowing someone else's or just being perpared to return it if it doens't work good.

I dont know anything about this but I bet he is lying

We just bought XM tonight. I got a Roady 2 receiver that will work through any FM thing. (not the proper term, LOL). I will use it mainly in the car, but it's portable so that when my Trailblazer is fixed from my wreck I can move it without an expensive "dock" being screwed into the dash. I also get a home kit for free by mail with the receipt, so I can use it at home as well. I don't really need it now as I listen to radio AOL, but when I dump AOL I'll need it.
I also want to try it at school, since I have cement walls and can only get the country station or the top 40 crap station.

I got XM for my bday and we love it! We live near a 50,000 watt radio tower and the reception can be pretty bad so XM is great. Right now, we only use it in the van and I am thinking about it for the house but haven't gotten it yet because you have to place the antenna is a south facing window and that will be difficult with our system.

Occasionally, we run into "deadspots" when we have something big blocking the southern exposure, like sitting at a traffic light next to a building, but once we start moving, the reception comes right back. We are driving on our vacation in Nov - can you guess where? ;) - and it will be fun to have access to our favorite stations all the way there.

HTH!

I received my XM radio for Christmas. I've got the home and car set up. Both work great. For the home set up, you just have to face your little satelite toward a window and your good to go. In the car it's great, unless you drive through a tunnel or forest, or as someone said...drive by a tall building. We drove from our home to Tahoe two weeks ago and listened to it continuously. It was kind of weird, not having to change stations in the usual dead zone of the mountains.

If you're like sports, Sirius has rights to all the NFL, NBA, and I believe MLB games. That's one thing I wish XM had as I am a transplanted Buffalonian and I would have loved to be able to hear my Bills play on Sundays.
