Sat Nav in France

As some of you will know, we set off tomorrow for Ashford, followed by Eurotunnel on Monday morning.

I have printed off directions on a route planner. My mum has just discovered that she has European Maps on her sat nav and we have been trying it out here. I have noticed that it beeps every time there is a speed camera and I recall someone on here saying it's illegal in France.

Is it? I'm not using it for speed camera purposes, but would rather just leave it at home if I risk being fined or something for having it.

Can anyone help?

Nerves are really kicking in now - I just hope it's as easy as you've all been telling me or there will be trouble when I get back

Dont worry about a thing your sat nav is fine. Its a radar thing that is illegal in France ...just use it as normal and everything will be great. Tunnel is an absolute doddle as well...i promise everything will be great, just enjoy the drive down and Disney! ...have fun!

Ohh you are brave! I would never do it without the Sat Nav
Have you ever driven in france before? Last year was the first time my husband and i drove in france and i couldnt do it!! Driving on the wrong side felt too wierd We were like the chuckle brothers on the round abouts lol to me to you to me lol:
My Hubby will be doing all the driving again this year

On the Sat nav you can turn the speed camera stuff off, so you wont have to worry about it.

Hope you have a great journey to disney and is not a complete wimp like me

oh and have you got everything you need when driving in france?
High vis vests for every passenger, Warning triangle, Beam deflectors, spare bulbs, first aid kit and GB sticker?
