Sat Nav help

Hi Folks,
I use my PDA over here with TomTom satellite Navigation software.
Just wondering what software and maps I need for Orlando/Florida.

I would like to know this too, I didn't know that it even could be used overseas!

I have TomTom Go in my car, but DH has a PDA with the regaulr TomTom as well. It would be so useful if we could use it in Florida!

There arent any USA Maps available for TomTom3, only Europe.

What you need is TomTom2USA, which as far as I could tell when I used mine last year, was no different to my Euorpean 3.

Sorry but you are wrong Tron. I have just purchased TomTom3 Maps for USA and Canada and am successfully running them on my IPAQ.

I have TomTom Navigator 3, I've installed the 3.07 updates from the TomTom site, and have installed the Florida map (about 40Mb) from the USA Map CD's.

The USA Maps are purely that. i.e. you will also need to purchase the Navigator 3 software as well.

The following is the wording on the Important Information that comes with the USA maps... "This product contains the maps of the USA for use with TomTom Navigator 3 software (not included). Please install the TomTom Navigator 3 application before installing these maps".

The USA maps are not cheap. About £140 in all. Here's a link to the TomTom site....http://www.tomtom.com/products/product.php?ID=33&Language=1

The TomTom GO product though can only run with the available European maps (no USA ones available). Have a look on http://www.pocketgps.co.uk for some good info on their forums about TomTom, and any other GPS system / software. Its a very good site.

Ahhh they must be new then, they most certainly werent out in october last year. Ive had no need to look for them since.

I'll start monitoring alt.binaries.ppc type groups again then.
