Sat Nav and point of interest ?

Hi,
In the uk my tom is pre loaded with poi. Is this the same with the usa sd map card or do I have to download the pois onto it?? Also how do you programme it to where you want to go I read on another thread that zip codes cover a huge expanse not like a uk postcode ?
Anyone give me an idiot proof answer??

It is just like the UK version. The points of interest show up, like the majority of parks in Orlando. Addresses are just entered the same as you do for the UK. I don't think we have entered the zip code but we may have done, the zip code is fairly exact to the actual location the same as ours not a huge area.

If we have found the Tom Tom map does not automatically have the poi we are after we just go on the net over there or use a telephone directory and input the address.

It is just as easy as using the UK version. We always select the American voice whilst we are over there as well.

Thank you so much !! That has helped loads we dont plan on taking our laptop - keeping track of the kids at the airport will be hard enough without lugging a laptop round !! now that i know it will tell us how to get to disney I can blag the rest x

That's okay Louise. The Disney, Sea World and Universal parks are already all in there. If there is a particular shop you want to visit or restaurant may be a good idea to make a note of the address before you go. I know with the restaurants it listed a lot of places we were not bothered about but it is easy enough to get hold of a telephone directory over there to find an address.

I know Walmarts wasn't already in it (our map dates from 2005) so we found the address of the new one that lies between Disney and Universal and just entered the address.

Not sure if they've corrected it now but we found the Polynesian resort POI was incorrect, it refers to the Polynesian ISLES resort instead which I think is offsite. Aside from that we found all the WDW ones worked great
